The modern Supreme Court requires Congress to write criminal statutes much more specifically than the way the Logan Act is written. I think if Congress really cares about the principle behind the Logan Act, and not just scoring political points out of it, then they ought to rewrite the statute.

On the other hand, Trump's lawyer Michael Cohen went to jail over a Moscow real estate deal he pursued on Trump’s behalf during the heat of the 2016 Republican campaign. He said he lied to be consistent with Trump’s “political messaging.”

Oh, just bumping this because I noticed the same thing about Biden's team already talking with foreign leaders - just like Trump's team did!

The other thing was the historical lack of 'transition' from the Obama team to the Trump team - for example, not passing along intelligence items to the Trump transition team. That - ahem !! - didn't make the news much at the time.

This time around it's a BIG DEAL because ... Trump.

Flynn lied to V.P. Mike Pence and was fired for lying. Then Flynn was interviewed by the FBI. After, he was charged with lying to the FBI. Then Flynn plead guilty. Then, when it came time for sentencing, Flynn plead not guilty. Next step is a pardon from Trump. There have been news story after news story written as Flynn changed his many wacky stories time after time:

Well, the Biden Cancer Initiative was suspend indefinitely by the founders after Biden*'s announced run. And that's probably why I didn't find it listed with the IRS through its search engine, which is one of 3 websites recommend by Forbes. And it was unrated on the other 2.

As for it still being active as per the article, I couldn't find any indication of that.
