When books are produced, a cover flat is generally made for the sales force so they can sell the books to the book sellers. It enables them to show it off. Publicity also uses these flats to promote the book ahead of time.

With a movie novelization, the cover is almost always the movie poster, and that poster is often not ready in time to make the solicitation cover. So the solicitation cover often has a publicity shot provided by the movie company (in this case a photo that I've actually seen elsewhere on the web), with generic type.

Of course, this was all done in anticipation of the book coming out in April. *sigh*

In any case, I'll say it again: THIS ISN'T THE FINAL COVER.
