Hey guys, there is an article on Serenity in this week's Sunday Times. In the Culture section, AUg 14th 2005, pages 10-11, entitled "Hang on In there".

Subtitled "Serenity may be based on a cancelled TV show, but it's autumns's most anticipated film".

Quite a big pic of River with the main title "Hang on in there", plus a small inset pic of the BDHs.

FInishes with advertising for the opening (Oct 7th) and the Edinburgh Festival screening

Love these quotes:
Quote:

" Firefly was not cheap to make, its wit slyer and darker than Buffy’s or Angel’s, its concerns more humane. "

" the nomadic courtesan Inara. "

" Spike movie "

" 40,000 of them crashed the website "

Why does it always seem to me, that the news writers in the UK have far superior prose ?

But notice they spelt Morena "Monrena"...eh. It's a tiny thing - can't complain after such a positive article!

;)

I personally love:

"But I shall be ready for Scotland. What’s this about deep-fried Mars bars?

Good article.

Nah, the Sunday Times is just one of the more intelligent papers, the same story in The Sun (the Times's sister paper) would read "STAR WHORES! The hot new movie coming out this autumn features Morena Bacarin as a sexy prostitute. Plus there's the mechanical hottie Jewel State who lost twenty pounds for the movie! No wonder the fans are queing up to get tickets!"

We have lousy journalism (and lousy journalists) too, although our libel laws do make our editors a little more keen on fact checking, etc.

Yeah, but you should have seen the other guy. A nasty piece of work, described by one of his own supporters as having "something of the night" about him, a man who recommended keeping pregnant prisoners in chains.

America on the other hand was offered a war hero, respected, intelligent and rich enough already not to need to invade countries to bump up his fortune.

Double ouch.

Of course, we're all praising an article published by News Corp, widely known as being the most evil company on the planet.

Sorry, what were you saying about sticking your tongue out then offering me a kiss?

And this evil corporation owns Fox Televison and 20th Century Fox. Hmmm.

TWG, in case you haven't since found out, that movie with Andy Kaufman and Bernadette Peters is called HEARTBEEPS.

Looking forward to this STAR WHORES movie, too. Although there must have been a porno with that title made in the 70's.

And by the way, I'm American.

Fuhgeddaboudit.

And Blair is only a little bit less stupid and a little less dangerous - but the majority of us didn't vote for him in the same way that the majority of americans didn't vote for Bush
