I just got the message from the online-store, I preordered the DVD's ( http://www.cede.ch / for germans: Er liefert auch nach Deutschland)

Quote:

Hallo Stefan,

Ausgelieferte Artikel haben unser Haus bereits verlassen und werden
dir in den nächsten Tagen per Post zugestellt.

Which means, that the dvd's have left their store and is about to arrive today or tomorrow!
It would be very strange if I've get the dvd's overseas sooner than in the US.

Maybe, they have their Partner in the USA, and I get it sent directly from there, and therefor it takes some time! But i hope!

I'll post if it has arrived today!

Hurray!!!!!!! Yudihuiiiiii (as we say in switzerland)

It has arrived!!!!!!!
If I had a good Digicam with me, I would save this moment for iternity.

Here's a pic I took with my crappy mp3player-cam (which makes only good pics outside with daylight)

It's four dvd-covers (a bit thinner than the usuals). Each with Mal, Zoe, Jayne and Book on it!

So excuse me for the next 9 hours! I've got something to do!!!

So long!!

Kick ass! I just talked to the Salt Lake City store, and sure enough - the girl on the phone said come pay $5 now, and then $15 after the 9th.

I'm cancelling all of my Amazon pre-orders.

Oh, yeah I made my preorders with Sam Goody when I heard about that deal.

See? Even Suncoast/Sam Goody recognizes a great series and wants the word spread. And they are one of those corporate type people.

Folks in Europe and Australia getting theirs sooner? Well, they DID see the 3 episodes which were unaired in the US. I think someone is tryin' to stick it to us Browncoats in the US.

We haven't seen any Firefly here in Australia. So count yourself lucky you got at least something in the US.

I preordered my DVDs through Amazon, and I'm sure they won't send them until the 9th. Where did you people that have them already order from?

I'm in germany and have been told that my box has been shipped today (shipped from the US so it might take a while).

I ordered from: www.futureent.com a UK shop for 30 GBP that's about 51 USD

it's still only 43 euros and that's not too much for a season box of one of the best series ever.

I just pre-ordered today from Barnes&Nobles and they will be shipping it the 6th Dec. and it should arrive 3-8 days later... Cost was ~$35US.

I managed to watch every single episode that aired on TV, even though it was tough to drive home from work that fast to catch the opening scenes.... It was my favorite TV show for all of two months before they pulled it

Now I'm a DVD-buying fool. Ordering Firefly and the first season of FarScape (the other excellent Sci-Fi show)

Just got my DVDs. Got charged 8.89 UKP import duty though! Don't think I will use Play US again if they are going to put the price on the outside of the packaging! Will stick to dvdboxoffice.

The gag reel on the extras seems to be a lot shorter than the downloadable version.

I got mine today, and was also charged by custom's. Perhaps they are not fans of the show. Playusa is to be avoided.

What i do find ironic is that in the UK we are getting the DVD's before the Americans, especially they been imported from US

However, cool 4 single hardcase cases look great with Mal and co.

I got mine from futureent.com - which is the same company as loaded247 but for some reason they're trading under two names?? free import tho, and they actually gave me back my money when my Headstones CD supplier went awol. I like them.

i want the serenity set, could re-build the ship in the garden (and a few of the neighbours' garden's but I'm sure they won't mind) - then I can run around in it and pretend to shoot at stuff! I'm too old to suspend my disbelief just running around my house pretending its a spaceship, and I must stop referring to my cat as mei-mei.

I got the DVD set tonight the picture quality is awesome. I just finished watching Serenity on a three and a half meter projector screen and I am over the moon with joy! Having only seen the Firefly on SVCDs created from mpgs that I downloaded I was amazed by the detail and quality of the special effects and the image in general. FANTASTIC! I can't wait to get the new Battlestar Galactica mini-series on DVD. If the effects are this good it is going to kick ass.

I should also mention seeing the cast in hi-resolution on a big screen made me very happy. Bring on the movie!

The best show in the vers!

All is well with the world ... except for the fact that theyve butchered the gag reel to a fraction of its length by removing the funniest bits, but im too happy to care right now. Does anyone else think the picture of Book on the second disc is way cool

I'm also in the UK and got mine today, bringing to an end several days of rushing down the stairs at breakneck speed each morning at the slightest sound of activity around the postbox :-)

I ordered from www.movietyme.com, who I would highly recommend having been a happy customer of theirs for a long time now. They are a US company but dispatch from the UK, so no customs duties, and they also have a habit of sending out the goods as soon as they receive their stock. I had the LOTR "Two Towers" extended gift set three weeks early and have also been admiring the "Alien Quadrilogy" set on my shelf for a couple of weeks. Now, at last, comes the box set I've been waiting for all year. SHINY!

My early impressions of the "Firefly" set are fantastic. Stunning picture quality, expansive widescreen transfers and, unusually for a box set, nice packaging. I especially like the use of proper slimline Amaray cases to house each disc. These discs sure will be taking a hammering so it's good to know that they will be properly protected :-)

Glanced through all the episodes tonight and some of the extras. It's a sweet, sweet package.

Overall, I can't believe my luck at getting the set early. Quite a few seem to be arriving now. One of my work colleagues even had his yesterday.

The watch-through, beginning to end, commences tomorrow! :-)

Regards,

Ade

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Seeing as Sam Goody is part of Musicland, which also owns Suncoast Video, I called the closest Suncoast this morning from work and the girl there told me that the preorder price is $19.99 if I came in and put down $5. So guess where I was at lunchtime.
