ARIYA

Okay, so I had seen a few episodes back when Fox was airing them, and was rather confused. I found out recently (due to this site) that the genius execs aired them out of order. Anyway, I got the DVD set, watched them all, and now I am a bit sad and considerably pissed. One of the few well written shows to come out, and certainly one of the only original ones, and it gets cut down mid-season.
So I am sure I could find all the information I want by reading through all the threads, but I am lazy in that regard. Who do I have to threaten, bribe, or assasinate to get this darn show back on the air? Will sending Joss spare change help? Marching on Fox headquarters? Is there even the chance they could make more episodes? Are the actors still willing? Is Joss? I have heard rumors of a movie deal, does anyone know if the original cast has signed up, or what the movie would be about?
14 episodes simply is not enough. I stopped watching TV altogether, but I would make an exception for this show. Therefore, Firefly needs to be brought back and given a healthy lifetime with at least enough seasons so I can find out where Book came from, why Jane is named Jane, and whether or not River will go super-psi and start blowing up planets with her brain. I consider this enough of an imperative to inflict damage on stupid television executives with no eye or heart for quality storytelling.
Done ranting, if anyone wants to clue me in about the above questions and what action us lowly mortals can take to help the show get a another shot, it would be greatly appreciated.

There is hope of a movie being made, until that happens there is virtually no hope for the show coming back.(though the actors/creator etc are still VERY willing and dedicated)

The best way to support the show and increase its chances now are to contribute to spreading it. I think www.fireflymovie.com has some examples of this, as well as places around here. Best/easiest ways: Buy the DVD(you did), get friends to buy the DVD, buy the DVD for friends, lend yours to others so they'll watch it(and possibly buy it!)

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

We are all right there w/ you Ariya. We all tried. We had post card campaigns, letter writing, you name it, we tried it. Joss worked his butt off to get another network to pick up the show, but none seemed interested. In the end Fox in their infinite wisdom cancelled the best sci fi show bar none on the air.

There is hope for a movie. Joss has said many times in interviews that he is dedicated to Firefly and will work to get it on the big screen. Nathan and the cast have committed to working on the show in whatever incarnation it takes on.

The best way to support the show now is to buy the DVD set, give them as gifts, make others aware of the show and get them involved. Networks and Hollywood only understand one thing; money. If we get enough fans behind the show, they and their money can get the show back on the air.
