How about a pay-per-view web series?

I loved this show. I have been re-watching episodes of the DVD and have been groaning the whole time because the show was soooo good and there will be no more. That makes me a little melancholy near the end of each episode. I do not let that get in the way of my enjoyment of the show though.

Anyway, after reading the posts here, I thought about what motivates the production companies and TV stations. The answer is obvious; Money! So, here is a crazy idea; how about a pay-per-view web series. Make a complete episode, line up some advertisers, insert commercials where needed, air it on the web, and charge a viewing/downloading fee (ala I-tunes). I think this might meet the financial conditions for continued production. I have been trying to find sales data for the DVD set, but with no luck. So, I am going off the fact that the DVD is listed at 47 on Amazon.com (as of today feb/23/2004) after release back in early December (2003). I know that it has been higher, but I do not know how high. Complete sales data would validate or invalidate this idea.

Just a thought.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

I would buy or subscribe to nearly anything to see Firefly. Direct to DVD, pay per view, you name it.
