Xena fans have a lot to be proud of; just the plain fact that it was aired on a syndicated network held together with Ronco & Extenze ad money, and the reality that you are and have been number one--dominating the voting over big network, iconic, long-running shows with big stars in them.
So don't let anything said here by some posters who never learned that simple lesson in life, ie. " if you can't say..etc etc etc ." keep you from feeling real shiny.

If you want to you can just check out some episodes at:

http://www.dailymotion.com/SpikeBad/video/x1ecas_xena-1x22-callisto-13

This competition also got me interested in Firefly, which I had never heard of. Is there a place to take a look at some clips from the show?

Looking forward to more friendly competition ;)

I can't say "never", but it's been years. Have to give it a gander. If you stumble across anyone interested in taking a quick peek at the FF series, you can sent them here:
http://versaphile.com/download/firefly.html
The video quality is good by standards of internet distribution; but far short of what you will see from the box set.

Yes; here's to -more friendly- competition :-)

I agree with your sentiments, Jongstraw. I watched Xena several times and Xena fans have hung in there. Once I found Firefly I was hooked and this is my first ever fansite. If we're going to catch up we have a better chance by keeping the competition strong and clean.

vumping along.

Uh...there was a thread awhile back about a place to watch them online for free and if I remember right that poster got really shot down. You see, DVD sales helped us browncoats get a movie and we're hoping that they will now help us get a sequel. I believe the upcoming special edition release of the film is evidence that universal is considering it and testing the water. So please, rent them if you're unwilling to buy them and help us out. Its a great show and no one I've introduced it to has had an adverse opinion.

Oh, of course - I can relate to that. I rather meant some preview or trailer clips that would give a general idea than watching it all for free.

DeltaPos - Ranking for votes gained during Feb

Sadly, we are number 2 this month in over all votes gained; having lost 1784 votes to Xena this month; we gained ground against all other shows this month.
Happily, we gained one position this month; but I'm guessing you already knew that ;-)

Scoop, due to low positon and low on-going vote accumulation is "most likely" to drop off top40, IMHO.

Looks like the "top 10" ante has been raised; need to be running about 400 votes a day to hold a top10 spot in the long run.

All,
Well, I don't know if I'll ever do this again, i t was painful; I've decided if I were to do it again, I'd export the data and script something (not being a spread sheet wizard).

A few surpises on the low end; Homicide: Life on the Street came out of nowwhere.
The Professionals is also making quite the mark.
I was pleased to see Mr. Rogers' capture slot 11.

Other than HtH, I still don't see anyone with enough votes to make a serious run to the top; perhaps after HtH hits there, that will free up some vigorous nominators to work other series.

Hmmm, that might be my fault, I think I indicated someplace I was considering voting for Bonanza now that we are past it; I do like the show, and am happy to see it have a place on the top40. I was thinking on waiting for it to be maybe 5000 votes back before doing such. But to conclude that as a -group- we would vote for Bonanza, I would never presume to make such a judgement on my own.

Very good.
Now, how many Bumps does it take to change a light bulb?

** I suspect that the stability is from the core of folks here; the heavy fluxuation of votes inspired by the Whedonesque posting would likely not have drawn much extra help for Lexx; and given the fall off, I'm just hoping we picked up a half dozen regular voters in the long haul. Not that I'm complaining about the big "one off" we got from it.

Vumping.

Congratulations to all who voted for the BDM in the SFX poll. While the list of Top 10 Sci-Fi movies of all time may be a little bit questionable, the results seem to have caused a bit of a stir and that can only be a good thing, with the special edition on the horizon!

6th vote of the day Bump.

SFX have now posted a page about Serenity becoming the "greatest". Has sparked a bit of a debate...

HOORAY FOR GETTING IN THE BBC!!!!!! Awesome article. Love the pictures they choose too, really shows the similiarities between Star Wars and the BDM.

The BBC has now decided to put in its own poll on the page about the BDM. Looks like another test of our voting skills.

Vote at

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/6517155.stm

We currently trail to Star Wars and Blade Runner.

Is it worth posting a new thread on this to draw folk in?

How often can you vote in the BBC poll?
They aren't very familiar w/ fandom if they think folks'll only vote once!

Difficult to tell. It certainly lets you vote more than once. Not seen it affect the percentage yet though.

I guess we just keep trying.

Regardless of whether or not we win, we are spreading the signal.

I'll be in my bunk....After I have voted some more!

Voted, most likely BBC will only allow 1 vote per person.

Good publicity though.

I've voted multiple times. I don't think they are as savvy about polls like this. Anyway, votes are pouring in and we're losing ground fast. The previous poll is going to look like a fluke if we don't step up.

Seems a pretty overwhelming battle. Close on twice the number of votes that the SFX poll generated already!

This will be a massive test of our voting resolve. Winning this one probably would rank up there in the "Done the impossible" bracket!

Been having problems reaching the site. It keeps timing out.
Hopefully this post makes it, to be followed in short order by a new thread.
