Likes to mess with stuffs.

I have a new poll up on Shiny Universe based on a post I made.

The poll is located here:

http://www.shinyuniverse.net/poll.aspx?pid=6

Here's part of what I wrote that inspired the poll:

Quote:

We also learn that there's a connection between Alpha and Echo. Is he a friend, lover, or sibling from her past?

I'm leaning towards sibling right now because both Alpha and Echo displays an affinity for remembering parts of their past imprints, which as far as we know up to this point, isn't present in the other Actives. Perhaps they are genetically predisposed to having this ability and thus are related somehow.

For all we know, they could have been in trouble together in the past and both ended up joining the 'Dollhouse.'

You were busy trying to get yourself lit on fire. It happens.

I voted no, because I think it has more to do with the fact that they both entered the Dollhouse early, and/or a technological and physiological issue with imprinting. But, those seem like fairly obvious angles, so I could be wrong.

RocketJock posted this on another thread:

What if the Dollhouse is telling the truth to their employees about Alpha being dead -- the truth so far as they know, that is.

Consider that you're dealing with technology that can record/upload/download entire personality and memory gestalts. Given a supply of blank bodies to imprint, this is effective immortality. Alpha might have seen the loss of his first body as no more hindering than dumping a hot car.

What if Alpha isn't a person -- but a pattern?

"You can't kill a Ghost." -- Echo

It is an interesting theory; given that Echo did not see his face and she was the only survivor from the DH massacre. Ghost in the Machine? Perhaps Echo's ability is to absorb and enhance the imprints placed in her brain. Remember when she took the gun from her handler she told him she had 4 brothers, etc.

Think back to how River adapted to her "training" by the Academy. It's a good theory.
