Hi, im a first time poster with a question.
What is Blue Sun?
I heard them talking about it in the commentary and stuff, but it wasnt actually in the show, was it? What is Blue Sun???

Blue Sun are - it is assumed at least - to be a large, multi-planetary conglomeration, basically like Coca-Cola mixed up with a darker side.

First off Nighthawk, welcome. Pull up a chair and set a spell. We're glad you're here.
To answer your question, Blue Sun was pretty well everywhere in the series, if you look closely enough. On posters, T-shirts, canned goods, advertisements on vending machines and billboards, to name the things I remember off the top of my head. Let me pop in my copy of disc 1 and get an exact location for ya...
OK, in "Serenity", when Mal, Jayne and Zoe are walking back to the ship after their meeting with Badger, the background is a collection of what look suspiciously like stackable semi-trailer containers. If you wait until just after Jayne says "I got a share of this job" (time 23:54) there is a Blue Sun poster between him and Mal. And in "Ariel", when River slashes Jayne with a knife, he's wearing a T-shirt with the Blue Sun logo on it. (A lot of us assume it happened BECAUSE it was a Blue Sun T-shirt)
It seems that Blue Sun in a large super-corporation, with lots of products people in the Firefly 'verse can buy. There may well be a more sinister aspect to them as well, which may show up in the coming movie/movies (cross fingers/knock on wood!!)

Ya, i think blue sun is gonna be in the movie cause in the audio commentary of serenity, nathon fillion is all "Hey look, blue sun" and since it wasnt in the show, it must be in the movie, but were they filming when they did that or was that befor cause if it was before mabey its not in the movie. That was a really long sentance.

Everything said above is true... even Spookyjesus. In the metaphor ladden worlds of Joss and Company the giant, mysterious, oddly named Blue Sun Corporation represents corporate power and influence.

Take note, there is great significance to the characters (River especially) and their relationship with Blue Sun since it pervades everything and seemingly owns everything. Yes, I did notice a Blue Sun pop ad in one show.

Ooooh and someone pointed out, rather brilliantly I thought, something between River, Blue Sun, And Jayne in one ep. I don't want to steal anyones thunder and I don't know where that post is on this BBS. Can anyone help? I'll bet someone can lead you better than I.

Seems that everyone else has pretty well covered your question regarding Blue Sun. They are in fact some sort of mega corporation that seems to have their hands in everything from food and drinks to tampering w/ young girls minds to turn them into some type of über operative or some such thing.
