It may be a little early, but we're starting to plan our big game for the week the BDM comes out. So, one of our tasks is to find a set of deck plans for a space ship.

We've decided to go with a transport ship similar to Serenity, one that can do either cargo transport or passenger bookings.

Do any of you folks have deck plans you're already planning on using? Or ones that you think would work?

You might want to consider looking at Star Wars websites, some have deckplans for all kinds of ships on them. Many could suit the look you are going for, or could be modified to suit your purposes.

Or just buy the Serenity RPG which is supposed to come with deckplans for the Firefly class ships. (It's being released this weekend at GenCon, though I'm having trouble findout out any more info than that...)

It's supposed to ship to retailers August 28th, I've been in touch with some people working on it. But, there's no guarantee that there are deck plans in it (I've seen some shots of plans at the play tests but no info on them in the book one way or the other), and waiting until the first week of September to start planning a game that we're going to be playing in a couple weeks is pushing it for me. Providing the game store here gets it when it's released and not late.

I'd like to make the ship as much a part of the adventure as the characters, much like the series did. But, if I have to make something up from scratch I can.

I'd also recommend you look online for Traveller deckplans. Here's a great page I found, just doing a quick Google search for Traveller deckplans:

I think you'll find the feel of Traveller ships fits just right if you want non-Firefly-class vessels.

The Serenity Role Playing Game will definitely have deck plans in it. Actually, beautifully detailed, full color deck plans.

I thought I heard that Universal wants to have the deck plans posted on their website. Plus, there is a possibility that the plans might be show on the Serenity RPG website, once it's fully up and running. Which, hopefully, will happen in the near future.

Here are some deckplans here in the Blue Sun room. But I suggest you ask the creator for permission to use them. There are others on this site, including one that prints out a variety of sheets for 25 mm scale miniatures in a D20 grid.
