I believe we all hope so! Although we don't have an answer for that at the moment. I think mostlikely we will get another season of Firefly and/or another movie. Serenity surely seems to be doing great in theatres so far being #2 in box office. I'm guessing it will be #1 this weekend. We'll see...

In the mean time, I suggest ordering the Serenity comic books (theres 3 issues). toywize.com (I think the site is) sells them as well as Serenity action figures. There's 3 different covers for each issue. Reason why I suggest getting them if you don't have them already is cause they take place between the Firefly tv show and the movie Serenity. So you can get some more of the story there. Also Joss maybe continue writing comics.

As I said though, right now there isn't a "greenlight" to do another movie or season. I wouldn't be surprised if they start on another movie or season some time early next year.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Welcome to the site William. Glad to have you with us.

Not too sure about the future of Serenity right now. We are doing all we can to keep the buzz going about the movie & encourage folks to go see the BDM. We need to hit $80 million in global sales to get Universal to greenlight a sequel, so that is where the majority of our focus is right now.

If you have not see the movie yet, go see it. Many times. Take friends & family. Take co-workers, pets, total strangers, just buy tickets. Do what you can to encourage others to see it.

See you around the 'verse.

There is another possibility for a Firefly revival. A new model that's worked for certain niche markets is "direct to DVD" (AKA "direct to video").

Disney has released sequels to many of its theatrical hits using this model.

What would be interesting and new would be if Firefly were to be produced as a Direct-to-DVD series, using advance subscriptions (along with investment) to fund the production costs.

Subscribers would receive (and be billed for) a new DVD with 3-4 episodes every couple months.

For more information, check out serenitymovie.net. (I am not affiliated with the author of that site and can't vouch for his bona fides, but the concept is described in detail there.)
