Please continue to help campaign for the show. If it is picked up, I will create a website to put together a chain list. I will then record each ep, put it on a VCD/SVCD/hi-quality DiVX/whathave you. I will burn 2 copies and mail them to the top 2 people, on the premise that they also burn 2 copies and send them to the 2 people below them on the chan list, etc, etc. This method will allow everyone to see new firefly eps within a week or 2 of original airing, and cost only a few dollars in postage and blank cd's.

So send you rpost cards, email sci-fi, and do whatever else you can for your Firefly!

Rob

PS should the show not have any future, i will set something like this up for the existing episodes of Firefly for those who don't have them. or now tho, I am putting all my efforts into getting the show back on the air.

Thanx...U know another option would be to put it on kazza which would be a little easier with a bunch of ppl doing it.

Unfortunately not everyone has a broadband connection. Luckily I do, and ussually have most of the episodes available for download on kazaa. I seem to be one of the few (i generaly only can find 2 ppl with an episode being shared) But, with my limited u/l speeds, it takes about 6 hours to transfer 1 VCD quality episode, even sans commercials... this would be a fairly easy way for people without cable or dsl interent to get copies, and with a pyramid structure like this you could reach a lot of people quickly.

i just want to be that everyone will have a way to see the show, no matter thier internet connections or tv channel availability. Hopefully no one will feel left out this way, and we wont lose and supporters!

During Christmas week there were DOZENS of people sharing. I got my copies from Kazaa and WinMX. I recommend WinMX.

There are also plenty of people on the web willing to make VHS tape copies of TV shows. I don't have cable, so I won't be getting the SciFi Channel, but I'm not worried. I'm writing postcards to save Firefly. Once it's back on the air, I know I won't have any trouble finding people to make copies for me. You just have to ask on the message boards.

Yes yes, this is the attidue I want to be sure everyone fosters :) I don't like VHS tapes, personally, they are to slow to record... I can make a 5 or 6 VCDs in the time it takes to make 1 VHS copy... but this is all just nervous chit chat while we await the fate of our show! keep those post cards coming!

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

This is a great way to keep people without Sci Fi interested and involved in the postcard campaign. Thanks MrGreen! Even though I get Sci Fi, it is nice to see someone in the community willing to help out those that do not.

I would be more than happy to be on your chain, but I don't have the equipment to pass on the eps. Would there be any way a technical trogladyte (sp?) like me would be able to benefit from this? Money? Chocolate? First born?

WASH: Psychic, though? That sounds like something out of science fiction.

I will find someway for you to help with this idea. I want everyone who helps support to be able to see Firefly should it get picked up.

Since there are only 2 ways to watch a VCD (computer or standalone player) the way I see it, you must have one. If you have a computer, then a CD write can be had for under $50. By the time FF hits the air again, i'll bet under $40. And it'd be useful for all kinds of stuff.

if you have a standalone player, either DVD or VCD, then you probably have a VCR. I'll get a list of people who don't have a way to watch VCD's and you (and others without a computer) could copy the VCD to VHS for those people to pass amongst thier circles.

:)

SO send in your postcards!

Rob

*EDIT* Newegg.com, a popular online computer reseller, has refurbed CD-Writers for $39 shipped, new for $47-48 shipped :)
