Hi all.

i first watched the series a year or so ago and have been hooked ever since. its my favourite show.
ive been lurking the forum for the past week or so and finaly thought id post something.

does anyone have an estimate of how long Serenity will stay in the cinemas, particulary the big ones?

if you compare it to a similar film and its time in the cinemas, it might give us a small estimate.

Pure speculation on my part (there always seem to be some real smarties hanging out on these boards so I'll just lay a little groundwork) but Hitchhiker's Guide would seem to be pretty close as far as type and fan base following.

It opened in 500-ish more theatres than Serenity but has so far followed a similar path:

Serenity just lost 489 screens down to 1700 - ack

But that follows HHG's trend which also lost roughly the same number at the same point in it's run. Not that HHG is the best film to be similar to, just comparing. It stayed in cinemas for just over a month and just made it's production budget back.
