DVD date clarification?

I remember reading on here a while back about Universal announcing the Serenity DVD on 12/20. Assuming that statement was credible (and I do), did that mean they'd announce it officially on 12/20 or that the dvd hits shelves on 12/20? That date *is* a Tuesday, when new movies come out (this I remember from working at Blockbuster) so it seems likely that that's the release date. That'd be cutting it a little close to Christmas, but you won't hear me complain.

And I wouldn't worry none about it coming to dvd so relatively quickly. It seems like everything does these days.

This date has come from thedigitalbits.com and would be the actual release of the disc. They have excellent industry sources but remember, such things are liable to change. I'd believe that is the current plan but if they're running short on production space or there's a flaw in the initial disc master or anything really, it could well be bumped.

A good chance of a pre-Christmas release (which is actually good for our potential sales) but not a certainty.
