Hi all,

I had planned to sit my sister-in-law in front of the computer for the SERENITY first 9 minutes. The link has been discontinued. Is there a mirror site that is still up and running?

The marketing for BDM has been pretty underwhelming, with the exception of the first 9 minutes being posted on the 'net. A brilliant idea, except that (a) the only reason that I know about this is because I access sites such as this, and (b) they pulled the plug prematurely!!!.

Here it is on i film its not the best quality but i hope it does the trick.

http://www.ifilm.com/ifilmdetail/2681478

it seems from the responses the first 9 minutes really got peoples attention.

Here in Ireland the marketing seems pretty good the ad was shown around all the channels I (your typical sci fi fan [is there such a thing]) watch.

That said my friend i went to see it with said he had yet to see the ad so who knows.

They also released the river tam sessions on the net as a viral marketing campaign, again check the responses on i film to see how it did.

WASH: Little River just gets more colorful by the moment. What'll she do next?
ZOE: Either blow us all up or rub soup in our hair. It's a toss-up.
WASH: I hope she does the soup thing. It's always a hoot, and we don't all die from it.

Thanks GEEKMAFIA,

As an alternative, we sat her down in front of BDP (Big Damn Pilot; Serenity) instead. Don't know if it will translate into fandom, but she seemed to dig it.

I've always found watching Our Mrs Reynolds is the best way to convert someone (it worked on me and those i converted). It does mean watching the series in an odd order but it works quite well as a stand alone episode and if you don't tell people too much about the order then the series twists still have the desired effect. I know I was worried for Kaylee that time even after seeing OMR and knowing in the back of my head that she was going to live... Guess thats a mark of good writing... Or my stupidity

That worked with my dad.

He liked the movie, and he liked the TV series up until that episode, but that was the thing that truly converted him into a browncoat. :)

I agree. That's a great episode.
