I just want everyone here to know I am new to Firefly and the whole Serenity mania...and from the few weeks I've been here grazing in and out of this wonderful site, I have two things to say to everyone here:
1.) I have never met a better and more friendlier group of people who are so eager and happy to accept new people among the group
2.) There is much love and support not only for Firefly and Serenity but the cast and crew alike. Even if Joss Whedon does move onto other projects, I'm sure he'll never fully abandon Firefly.
So with this being said and all the shiny people on here, I am wondering something...has anyone wrote any fan mail and had success with a reply???

Greetings PrincessNipNip (care to tell us what that name is from? Or am I out of touch w/the popular culture references?)

Joss Whedon frequently reads threads at the Universal Board:

and occassionally he'll reference things people said when he posts there (which he has done 19 times)...

but I haven't noticed him responding directly to anyone there...
and I haven't heard about his taking the time to write in answer to fan mail
(but I'm sure he would get anything sent c/o Universal Pictures)

he also frequently reads threads at Whedonesque,
and occassionally posts there:

Some of the actors definitely reply to (at least some of) their fan mail.

The wonderfully super-human PsychicRiver has had quite an exchange with Summer and he has posted some of her letters in the Blue Sun Room.

I am sure others reply to some fanmail.

Adam Baldwin joins in with political debates sometimes in the Real World Discussions here and on the OB.

Nathan posts sometimes on the OB too.

Generally the cast and crew are very friendly and do as much for their fans as they can. Your best chance of getting any contact with them is to go to a convention somewhere. If you can get to London in November there is one at Heathrow. check out www.starfury.co.uk

I talked to Sean Saturday night at a screening of Living til the End and he said that he never reads the boards so you probably won't get a reply from him there but maybe you could write a fan letter and send it to his agent. I don't know how he'll reply. He also told the crowd at the theater Saturday night that he doesn't like to talk about himself. Maybe, he'll send you and autographed picture instead?

What is OB?
I was converted like 8 months ago, but it's been merely a couple weeks since I started checking websites. So I still have what is XX?? and I totally agree with PrincessNipNip - I love all the flans! They are inclusive, nice and friendly! ^-^

BDH = Big Damn Heroes (also BDM: Movies etc etc)

around here (a fff) we usually refer to the OB as Universal's board:

over at Whedonesque when people refer to the OB they are refering to the old, original Fox board:
