BRETTYBOY

Hello all,

I just wanted to say hello to all my fellow Browncoats. I am new to the board and to Firefly in general, having only discovered it in the last couple months after seeing the trailer for Serenity(yes I know I should be punished). But after watching the series and the movie several times I am fully hooked. So I just wanted to start by saying hey, so hey. Also any Milwaukee fans in the house?

Welcome BrettyBoy! No one's going to punish you; we love new fans. It's always good to see that the movie's bringing more people into the Firefly 'verse.

Again, welcome!

Welcome to the site! Always glad to have new browncoats on board.

If you'd like more of the Firefly/Serenity 'verse, be sure to spread the word to everyone you know. The Big Damn Movie (BDM) did so so at the box office, so strong DVD sales will be crucial for a continuation. It comes out on DVD December 20.

Whatever happens, please do stick around. We'd love to have you join in the discussions.

Oh, and if you want more of the ‘verse right now, check out the River Tam Sessions (if you haven’t already) over at www.session416.com. They’re four short clips purporting to be security tapes from the Academy where River was being held; Joss and Summer put them together to act as viral marketing (that’s Joss in the white labcoat).

Also, there’s the Serenity comic book miniseries (three issues) that covers events between the end of the series and the film. The comic books sold so well they may be hard (or impossible to find) in stores, but they’ve all been collected in a trade paperback due out January (or February?) ’06. It’s already up for preorder on Amazon (shiny cover!). I really recommend it; reads like a lost “Firefly” episode.

Oh, you'll be punished, all right. Punished by the endlessly gnawing, galling knowledge that there is no more of Firefly than the 14 priceless episodes, and but one feature film (so far). Punished by the pain of waiting to find out if there will ever be more of the 'verse.

Such is the fate of all Browncoats!

Really, though... welcome. We share your pain (we're very experienced at that).

Ain't about you, Jayne. It's about what they need.
