It worked to get the movie made.

Well, that and the fact that we bought so many series DVDs. And for Christmas this year my list is as follows:

Mom - Serenity DVD and Perfume
Sister - Serenity DVD and Comics
Brother - Serenity DVD and Comics
Best Friends - Serenity DVD and Visual Companion
Other Friends - Serenity DVD
Mailman - Serenity DVD
Local Libraries - Serenity DVD

etc., etc. So order early or they'll be ALL sold out before you get yours!

I actually just did some research on dvd sales, and the top 20 selling dvd's of 2004 made at least 70 million. Seeing as how Serenity would almost have to fit into that category for 2005-2006, including the fact that people could buy multiples for Christmas gifts on top of the ones they buy for themselves, that should put Serenity in that top 20 for yearly dvd sales. Selling 5 million copies worldwide grosses 90 million so we'll see within the next year how that pans out(Overseas box offices are still doing decently).
