I've finally managed to get a copy of the Wonderfalls DVD's and I'm becoming convinced that Tim Minear was a crucial missing piece in turning Firefly into a movie. I'm beginning to think that a big part of the magic of the series was the tremendously talented group of people Joss gathered together for the project. Tim, Jane Espenson, Ben Edlund. There was obvoiusly some terrific chemistry there.

Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone has heard what Tim is up to since "The Inside" was cancelled. Has he finally quit bothering with F*x? Has there been any word of Tim (or Ben or Jane or any of the old crew) working with Joss again?

They developed such a consistently wonderul writing style together. It seems a shame to let that dissipate. I want Mutant Enemy back! :(

I think Tim Minear should definitely have a hand in "Serenity" the next time.

The Firefly eps he did work on were excellent, some of my favorites.

I wonder if Joss would consider letting Tim direct the next movie? Joss is busy with "Wonder Woman" and "Goners" so..... we might get our BDM2 quicker that way?!

Just a thought...

Tim is on record as sayin' he wants to do it. I think Joss would trust him with it.
It really just needs a go-ahead from Universal at this point, and they can't give it until the dvd sales are in.

Joss has said he wouldn't start thinking about casting Wonder Woman until he had a script and when last I heard he hadn't finished the script.

I'd love to see Tim pen the second Serenity or at least have a hand in it. Out of Gas was amazing and so was The Message. I'm banking on them to pull an Empire Strikes Back with the second movie and top the first and I think Tim could pull it off.

I'm glad someone is thinking along the same lines as me!

I so think Tim Minear has what it takes to put our BDH back up on that screen!

"Out of Gas" and "The Message" are my two favorites. In that order.

I can't wait to see what he could do with the story now!

Damn straight FOLLOWMAL, "The Message" is my number two as well. Tim Minear could do some great things, I'd really like to see him given a shot at it.

I'm still hoping he gets to direct the film version of "The Moon is a Harsh Mistress". It's my understanding he's writing the screenplay. He'd be the one person I'd trust to direct the story as well.

Yup.

I'm a fan of Tim Minears work. In fact if you listen to the commentaries for either Angel or Firefly, his insights tend to be amoung the more interesting and arresting. He and Joss obviously worked well together, but like many associations sometimes you want to go your own way on some things. Doesn't mean there's any rift between the two, but hollywood has a way of tagging artists very quickly. I'm sure they find it more liberating not to be considered a team.

I'm waiting for Wonderfalls to be released here in the uk on DVD aswell. I've seen nothing about this show but just the fact that it's Tim's creation holds enough weight for me.
