OK - belated reaction, belated thread, but it's beginning to hit home that I only have three episodes left to see, and that's it.

I live in the UK, where Firefly has yet to air.
I don't have broadband.
Nonetheless, I've managed to download all the episodes that have so far aired - I can only attribute this to fanaticism.

I've managed to persuade two other UK folks to try downloading an ep. They did - and within a week, had watched them all, expressing disbelief that the series could have been cancelled (one of these was lucky enough, thanks to my insistence, to watch the whole series in the correct order)

And I've made a couple of videos with a few episodes on. One's been swiped by a friend with no internet access - he's hooked. And my neighbour's just been round to drop off a tape, and plead with me to record more eps for him, 'cos he and his 14 year old son are completely hooked. Despite the fact that due to my not-so-great hardware, the video quality leaves a lot to be desired...

Five people I've persuaded to look at the show. And all five are completely hooked.

Fox? You had a massive massive hit on your hands. What the Tai-kong suo-yo duh shing-chiou doh sai-jin wuh dhu pee-goo where you thinking?

To spell this out. This series would have made a fortune for anyone with half a brain.

Sorry. Just had to vent - and I can't think of a better place to do it.

Andy
PS small disclaimer about the downloading/copying. If official DVDs ever become available, I will be first in line to buy them. If the eps are ever shown in this country, I'll be watching. Until then, I'm watching them anyway I can.

Hi Stray Cat

I am from the UK too, and although I managed to catch one episode on tv in the US in September, I have also resorted to illicit means to get my Firefly fix. Check out the "One Trading Post" forum, as many people have also said in there, I will definitely be buying any official release of DVDs when and if.

I have also been attempting to spread the love, so to speak, and everyone I have showed my copies too has been hooked, whether they were an existing Whedon fan or not.

Have you been harassing SKy One, or any of the other channels to pick it up? There is a thread in here somewhere in which I posted contact details for all the likely candidates.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

We are as baffled as you Straycat. One would think after Fox admitted their preempting of the series for broadcasts of baseball, that they would have given the show another shot, but it does not look that way. It also appears now that the actors are pursuing other endeavors:
