Okay, more proof of my obsession...

Below is an examination of the differences between the downloaded and published editions of the Firefly soundtrack.

As usual, please let me know of any questions, corrections, or concerns.

Enjoy!

DOWNLOADED EDITION VS. PUBLISHED EDITION OF
FIREFLY SOUNDTRACK

The first ten tracks are essentially the same.

Then, things get interesting....

Track #11
Downloaded Edition: Leaving/Caper/Spaceball
Caper just isn’t there, folks.
Published Edition: Leaving/Caper/Spaceball
At last, we get to hear Caper! More about it
under Track #17 below.

Track #12
Downloaded Edition: River’s afraid/Niska/Book
Published Edition: River’s afraid/Niska/Torture
Book changes its name to Tears and moves to the
beginning of Track #17 in the published edition.
Torture is new to the published edition.

Track #13
Downloaded Edition: In my bunk/River’s eyes/Boom
Published Edition: In my bunk/Jayne’s statue/Boom
River’s eyes moves to the end of Track #17 in
the published edition. The first half of
Jayne’s statue is new to the published edition;
the second half is what was called Book’s hair
in the downloaded edition.

Track #14
Downloaded Edition: Inara’s Suite
Published Edition: Inara’s Suite
In each edition, this suite contains essentially
the same music but in a different order. The
middle section remains unchanged. However, the
first section of the published edition is the
last section of the downloaded edition and the
last section of the published edition is the
first section of the downloaded edition.

Track #15
Downloaded Edition: Deserted ship/Empty derelict
Published Edition: Out of gas/Empty derelict
The music is exactly the same. Only the name of
the first piece in the track is changed in the
published edition.

Track #16
Downloaded Edition: Book’s hair/Ready for battle
Published Edition: Book’s hair/Ready for battle
Looks like both editions are the same, but
no-o-o! As mentioned under Track 15 above, the
music called Book’s hair in the downloaded
edition appears as the second half of the
Jayne’s statue music in the published edition.
The music for Book’s hair in the published
edition is new.

Track #17
Downloaded Edition: Goodbye Early
The second half of this music appears as Capers
in Track #11 of the published edition.
Published Edition: Tears/River’s eyes
Tears appears as Book in Track #12 of the
downloaded edition. River’s eyes comes from
Track #13 of the downloaded edition

Yes, that music is included!

It is called "Captain & Ship" and is the second
selection in Track #20.

I've got two charts of info. on the cd version of the Firefly soundtrack, by the way.

The first chart is in order by track number on the cd and can be found at: http://www.itasca.net/~sgh/fireflystk.html

The second chart is in order by episode and scene and can be found at: http://www.itasca.net/~sgh/fireflystke.html

Enjoy!
