Searching for a certain fanfic. Can anyone help?

Long time reader, first time poster... yada, yada, yada.

I gotta say, the fanfic posted on this site is some amazing prose! There are some very tight stories on here and I'm starting to suspect some were written by Joss, himself, to test the waters for future scripts.

Anyway, about a week ago, I ran across a wonderful fanfic that I can't seem to find now. Unfortunately, the name of the story and it's author escape me. Maybe someone will recognize it.

The story contained a paragraph with a brief exchange between Mal and River where he asked her if she weren't cold because she was barefoot and speculated there must be a good story behind why she didn't like to wear shoes. She responded by asking him how else would she know if she was touching the ground.

Does this sound familiar? Does anyone know the title or the author so I can find the story again?
