Well, the article is kinda pointless.

As far as i know, about 50-60 % of the total boxoffice income goes to the studio. So 38 million is far away from even.

But most movies make much more on DVD sales/rentals etc then in the cinemas, so it should break even.

Say it gets to 40 million worldwide. Well, then you still have around 20 million to go. But the investors still wants to PROFIT, not just get back the dollar they threw in ;)

In other words; We are looking at a VERY hefty dvd sales in order to even stand a chance for a sequel. 20 millions in dvd sales gives nothing. 40 million gives.

But thats a tough number.
