Amazon sales figures

Sorry if this has been discussed elsewhere...couldn't find it. Since I got hooked on Firefly, I've been keeping a watchful eye on Amazon's sales figures. It is honestly really surprising to me that Serenity has stayed at about #3 for close to three weeks now, and even more surprisingly has been keeping the long-released Firefly DVDs up around #4 with it. This is on par with or outselling The 40-Year-Old Virgin, which granted came out on DVD a week earlier but still did four times the box office of the Serenity movie. Are Amazon sales figures just really out of whack in comparison to other retail sales, or is this really just a stellar showing for the DVD release? BTW, I love how the Serenity picture is always shown next to the DVD tab in the "Top Sellers"...I should check the "What's your occupation?" thread to see if any Browncoats do webpage design and maintenance for Amazon... :-)
