Also on the list...Transporter 2. Someone please explain to me how that film gets a sequel but Serenity's fate is still more than questionable???

Well, uh, I actually liked The Transporter.

Hot guy!

Ass-kicking!

Hot guy is kicking ass without a shirt on!!

And his adorable British accent! I just love Jason Statham (but not as much as Nathan, as I am willing to fight in mud for that guy).

Actually, the Transporter could be our ticket to a sequel.

The movie did badly in cinemas but sold very well on DVD, that's why they made a second one.

Here's hoping the same will be true for our BDM.

actually according to boxofficemojo.com, the transporter cost 21 million to make and made 43 million worldwide. So I wouldnt exactly say that it bombed at the box office

My mistake then, that's what I was led to believe by other Browncoats. Maybe they were just trying to keep everyone's spirits up ;)

You didn't take into account marketing costs, which was about another $20 mil. Don't they include marketing cost into how much profit a movie makes? So that would mean that the movie only made about $2 million.

Don't forget to mention that Firefly is #4 on the list (per Amazon.com)!

Also, as of a minute ago, Transporter 2 is not on the top 10 list, while both Serenity & Firefly are (Same source)!

Woo-hoo!

Lets not forget that Serenity is number 6 all over (however i'm not sure that list counts web shops. It does count all regular shops in the us though, or near enough).

Thats impressive enough. Expept from the fact that American pie 4 (straight to dvd) is at number 2 :((((( People really have taste like shit....

Jayne: All those years of preacher training, getting knocked out by one bounty hunter
Book: Oh, dont get me wrong. I gave him a hell of a fight
Jayne: Epic i'm guessing

well .. you are right there .. I didnt include that. The reason I didnt, is because the budget figure for Serenity 39 million did not include marketing costs, if it cost fox 20 mil to market a 20 million dollar movie .. how much did Universal spend on marketing?

Hmmmm, not sure actually. I remember something about this in another thread, however I didn't read all of it so I don't remember how much marketing was for Serenity. (I was on a lunch break at the time I saw the thread...then forgot about it later, so I didn't re-read the thing. So if anyone knows what the marketing budget was...chime in).
