Hello my fellow FFF!

A friend of mine is putting together a persuasive argument about the Television Rating System (Nielsen, etc) and how Television corporations should pay more attention to Internet Traffic for their ratings.

My friend's argument must persuade a group of people to act (for example: do something to save their favorite shows from being put off the air).

This argument is inspired by our favorite show and others that have had a similar fate.

I am requesting any credible information you may have about Television Rating Systems, research on Internet Traffic (and it's influence on corporations), and any information you may have regarding exactly what happened with the Firefly cancellation. We both feel there is hope for Internet influence on corporations due to the release of Serenity, and possible continuation of the series (in some fashion). Please help us! :) Thank you!

Here's a link to a nice little summary of what was done to try to save Firefly when it was cancelled:

Not sure, if Firefly is a good example of it working, seeing how the movie didn't make a lot of money. Come to think of it, none of the shows I can think of that were on a brink of cancellation and brought back by fans are good examples. Hopefully, this isn't a bad sign for the internet to be used in the future to bring back shows. Good luck with your argument.
