Sorry, it's a completely pointless thread. Well, pointful, actually, but not really.

Does anyone know how they get River's hair that way in the movie? The wavy thing that's kinda... well, you guys know what I mean. You've seen the movie. I like hair like that, I want hair like that.

I'm so sorry if this thread is just taking up space. My next one will be more meaningful.

Do you twist it and then tie it up? Twist it in little little strings?

My hair is really pourous, so I just do it damp with lots of mouse - it pretty much stays.

I am not sure how they did it.

Any hairdressers in the verse?

My hair kind of does it naturally, but I have curly, wavy, long hair. On a really ridiculously humid day when I forgot to use defrizz crap, my roomie calls me frobot.

Sorry to detract from the topic a small bit, but is it just me, or has there been publicity photos taken of Ms. Glau dressed as River sporting cornrows? I swear I've seen that somewhere before, and I just want to say:

90 pound white girls should NOT wear cornrows. Ever. If any such persons ever decide to attempt it in the future, I urge you to bash yourself in the eye socket with a crowbar instead. You'll look ten times better with a black eye instead of cornrows.

They say I am a sinner and seducer, they try to put the blame on me, but I don't give a fuck for the way they see.
Stand up and you'll win, surrender and you'll lose, it's heads or tails, you have to choose.

I don't much hair left. Nice not to have to deal with it.

on Summer? that's just plain wrong.

Are you sure her hair hadn't just dreadlocked through lack of washing (which is also the other way to get her hair, btw - I once went camping for a week and the combination of wood smoke, general lack of washing combined with natural drying and no shampoo/product of any kinda, it all made my hair actually look really cool!).

I just have to pipe up here, even if it makes me
look like a dork. I love River's hair.
The best hairdoo IMO is NO hairdoo. Most guys
might not agree, but when I see a woman who looks
like she doesn't care what her hair looks like, I
Like it!

Now, going to a lot of trouble to make your hair
appear to be unkempt kinda defeats the purpose, but
I guess that's the magic of girly-cosmetics.
Messy hair. I'm all in favor.

I know, right? And I do feel silly about it sometimes. See also: the way we put on makeup to make it look like we aren't wearing makeup.

Here's the thing: there are three ways to see girls whose hair looks good, even though it looks like they don't care how their hair looks.

1) On TV, where actresses sit in hair and makeup for half an hour to make it look like they just woke up
2) Women who spent a comparable amount of time getting their hair to look like they just woke up
3) Women who made a deal with Satan

Because for me, and in my experience, most girls who've done nothing to themselves are a sight no one should be subjected to.
