I just completed my annual watching of 1776 in honor of Independence Day here in the U.S. I love that film. Always brings me to tears in certain parts.

There is little as important to me as independence (hence freedom). Woe to anyone who tries to take any part of it away from me. (Those of you who saw my posts in a certain other thread may already understand that.) This fervency is the reason I was so captivated by Firefly when I found it a few weeks ago, and is also the reason my coat is so very, very brown.

We live in an age where nearly every nation is ruled by some form of the Alliance. That's as true in the U.S. as anywhere. I will never, ever accept that, even when it forces me to comply. They will never take the sky from me.
