WAHMUK

It's none of my business to know what your real names are. That would defeat the purpose of an alias.

Actually, you have to know my real name to understand...

My last name is WOMACK, which is more often than not mispronounced as WOE-MACK. My family pronounces it WAHmuck (rhymes with stomach, sorta). So, WAHMUK it is. Not only that, it'll fit on most state license plates.

ARCHER

Ah hell, missed a good discussion.

Archer has always been my predominant handle online. It's an old nickname from my degenerate youth.

Because the safest place to be when I've got a bow and arrow in my hands is right in front of the bullseye.

Yes, I associate with sarcastic people.

I've had a million nicknames throughout my life, and none of 'em ever stuck... (other than a couple of people who call me 'Rattlesnake' to this day, due to a chance encounter while working a stonemasonry labor job.)

Archer always was my favorite.

Anywho, now the thread can be peacefully retired.

There ain't nothin' I can't overcome or come to know. So lay your heavy load down on me, strip everything I have away. I am not your prisoner, I am not afraid.

Ah, so it's nothing to do with Captain Archer then? Glad to hear it!

Book: “A duel?”
Wash: “With swords?”
Simon: “The Captain's a good fighter, he must know how to handle a sword?”
Zoe: “I think he knows which end to hold.”

STILLSHINY

Mine....

Still Shiny after all these years......

Just to show if they take the show, take my love, take my land... Uh yeah right hold-on

Basically it means They won't take Firefly away from me!

on the "other board" I couldn't be stillshiny so i chose to "stayshiny". I just like the word. And love to use it in groovy places like.

The Shiny will be with you........always....

That's been the source of a couple of jokes. Back when Enterprise was on the drawing boards, a buddy of mine called me up and said "Scott Bakula is going to be the Captain, and guess what his name is? Archer! Maybe it'll be good."

Hah. Some people are eternal optimists.

Then there's a character from the Battletech board and computer game, in their fiction line, named Archer Christifori. So when I used to post on their boards, the assumption was that it came from him. The ultimate irony came in the novel where he leads an invasion of the planet Odessa... my hometown is Odessa Texas, so the blurb on the back goes on about 'Archer leads his forces to Odessa, blah blah blah...'

We found that inordinately hilarious.

There ain't nothin' I can't overcome or come to know. So lay your heavy load down on me, strip everything I have away. I am not your prisoner, I am not afraid.

DEFENDER82

Public defender admitted to practice in first state (PA) 1982. Besides no numericals (e.g defender 1, defender2, etc.) ever go up that high. Not terribly interesting but since I have to type public defender on every legal document I can do it really fast!

IAMJACKSUSERNAME

Well, I'm all right. - Mal

I'm not allowed to talk about it :).

For boards that still can't handle spaces, apostrophes (and lowercase letters), and/or long nicks, I sometimes use my old EFnet handle "mrBlond" (from Reservoir dogs).

LIVINGIMPAIRED

I started using Living Impaired a while back when I noticed it was getting harder and harder to use Frog Eater. LI comes from a Simpson's Tree House of Horror episode:

LISA: The dead are rising from the grave!
BART: Lisa, the prefer to be called the "Living Impaired."

But now I'm having a hard time even using LI, so I also go by Buffoholic and Blue Sun Slayer now.

LILAH: Just like being at work, except suits by Liberace.
LORNE: Wesley, would you please warn this walking infection that I haven't forgotten how she poked my head open like a Capri-Sun? And while my love for humanity allows me to tolerate her presence, if need be I will smack her down! Be a doll. Thanks.

CPTBUCK25

CptBuck25 comes from my namesake, Captian Buck Rogers of the 25th century, a comicstrip hero from between WWI and WWII.

Those who want the whole story can email me. (it's long and I don't tell it quickly)
