(well apart from when the owner tries to model the boots he's been making - oh dear) its not terribly original, but then its based on true events so... doesn't need to be so much. but Ciwetel was great in it. In so far as he really sold that character. but then that guys an incredible actor, completely underused on a light comedy. But then to be honest he was underused in Serenity.

oh, i just watched The New World with Colin Farrell in - cannot believe it had an end - i was halfway through and though about sorting a pension out. I'm not even sure it was terribly long, it just felt it. I think some one got hold of my copy and spliced it with an overproduced nature documentary and the voiceovers from Dune.
it just seemed to be water, more water, change of music, some trees, boats on a river, and still, still with the boats. oh, ok, feilds, girl walking ten paces ahead of colin (come on love, i know he's just spent three months on a ship, but your in love! can't you look past the smell?) bug on some canvas, tree, mutiny, someone gets shot, i don't know why, mud, annoying children, fight, oh, did the fight end? er, more feilds, again ten paces ahead, typical male cop out, Christian Bale!

he was possibly the best think in it, mostly because it was only after he came in that the story seemed to move along and the voice overs seemed to concern the story.

and then for once, the right choice is made, andd then The Music starts and you know its just going to end in tears.

bastard.

ah well, you probably all love it. meh.

At risk of further alienating myself, i know nothing of knives. A knife is a knife is a knife, you cut stuff with them, thats all i need to know. Asking me to recognise a 'filleting' knife would be like asking a valley girl to recognise drill bits. Its just not going to ever happen.

I also don't much like Jaime Oliver, i think he's an annoying little g*t who is impossible to escape from and his spearheading of this healthy eating campain has but a cat amongst the middle class moms and pops pigeons and those dozy b****rs in parliment, hence that fact that schools are so paranoid about this healthy eating stuff that my sister got pulled aside and lectured in front of all the other parents for putting a fudge bar in my neices lunch box.
and its not going to work - all they're doing is stigmatising sweets and soft drinks so much that as soon as kids get any spending power of their own - whoops there goes the waistline!

plus all of his stupid catchphrases and constant gibbering, i don't know a single person who wouldn't punch his lights out as soon as they saw him.

but in his credit, he does simplify cooking and do a lot to inject the fun back into it. I'll give him that.
