Hello, I had a fun time at Gen Con, and met a few firefly fans while I was there.

I played the Serenity RPG for the first (and second) time.

I learned a new game called "EVE" based on the MMOG

AND, I dressed up as Mal, with my shiny new costume.

The gen con weapons policy provents things that look like real firearms, but that didn't stop me from bringing my leg-stabbing screwsriver of doom.

GREAT idea to take the screwdriver along!

As discussed in another thread, the gunbelt
needs to be slanty to be accurate, but
that's just a matter of how you wear it.
This particular belt is excellent: wide and
brown as it should be. Can you hook your
thumbs in it?

The belt is a size 39' waste, the only one like it which I could find anywhere. Most availible are new remakes that don't have the gritty feel to them.

I thought the belt would hang a little lower on me when I purchased it, but alas, it does not.

Obviously I can't feel around and tell
where your hips are.

From the photo it looks as if the belt
is low enough, proportionally, on the
pants themselves. Any more and it would
violate the look. Maybe try hitching
up the left (non-gun) side and letting
it "sling."

Belt itself is really gorgeous and looks
as if it has a history. This can be a hard
thing to achieve in costumes. I'd call it a
success.

Yes - I purchased (and played) the serenity RPG at the con.

While I was there, I also purchased the new Out in the Black expansion, the game master screen, and Done the Impossible.

Out in the Black is suppose to be an expansion to the RPG with diffrent playable scenarios. Havn't had time to look through it yet.

I really have a bad case of "It is has the word Serenity on it, I have to buy it"

Dog1300, very shiny outfit! I never would have thought of the screwdriver, either...good idea, though!
Will you be attending DragonCon, as well? I would like to make the acquaintance of another Mal!

I have almost completed mine, and the gunbelt is the sticky part right now...looks like I am going to have to buy leather and a buckle, and make the thing myself!

I won't be at Dragon Con, can't get to it from here in Chicago all that easily.

I'll be around though at some local cons throughout the year, and back at Gen Con in 07.
