Scenerio:
You just gave someone a Firefly DVD as a present. This person looks at you and says, "Huh?"

You say: [fill in the blank]

This happens to me all the time, as I tell people what I got them for Christmas.

Here's what I wrote in an actual email to my Mormon friend. He's pretty straight and narrow but he loves sci fi and fantasy.

You are going to love it. Firefly. Space Western. Funny, awesome.
One thing, though. It's not the kind of show you can watch while you cook dinner or are distracted, or while people are talking. Most TV shows it doesn't matter, but this show you have to watch closely to catch all the great lines and subtle things. Just when you think something boring is going to happen, so you get up for more popcorn - BOOM, you just missed something really great, so use the pause button. Oh, and it is not for children. It's not R rated, but it's not meant for children.

Talk to you soon good man. You know, I'm not the kind of guy who goes around buying people Christmas presents. If my relatives get a card they are lucky. I know, I'm lame. I don't really like Christmas very much, to be honest. The holiday songs, oh, don't get me started. But Firefly is so awesome, I can't explain to you how much I love this show. You must have it, plain and simple, because I know you will really like it if you keep watching. It would be an insult if I didn't get this for you, it's that good. Merry Christmas

How to introduce Fifely:

Duct tape and a chair. 100% of the time after the first 2 episode they will not press charges.
