I just recently saw the series of Firefly, and the movie Serenity. All i have to say is wow. It is a really good series, it is to bad it ends there. But one thing that gets me, i looked around on different fan sites, looked at reviews. I looked at critic reviews, and critics usually tear up shows, and movies, but I have yet to see a bad review for Firefly or Serenity, and I have looked at a few hundred reviews. For such a small viewing fan-base when the series was airing. It sure did seem to get out, I have yet to hear anything bad about Firefly.
Such a huge fan-base, i mean for crying out loud it's been rated higher then star wars and star trek. Confuses me why no one wants to pick it up, or has... I just dont know.

I think the closest I came to hearing a bad review was part of the one for Serenity by Ebert and Roeper. They liked the movie but also made the comment that it looked like the budget required them to shoot in a warehouse -- not realizing that Serenity is a cargo ship, it's supposed to look like that.

BROWNCOAT1

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

First off Aeo, welcome to the site and to the fandom that is the browncoats. We're glad to have you here posting with us!

Critics and fans loved Firefly, unfortunately it just did not pull in ratings enough to make Fox happy. Never mind that they nixed the pilot Joss wrote ("Serenity") and then made him write a shorter one in the course of a weekend ("Train Job"). Never mind that they barely marketed the show, preempted it repeatedly for baseball, or that they aired the episodes out of order. Without a proper pilot introducing the characters and enviroment in which the character were set, it is no wonder people tuned out. Hell, I was confused to some extent with who these people were, why were they together, and what motivated them to do what they did on screen. Unlike many, I kept watching.

Spread the word. Tell everyone you know about Firefly and the movie Serenity. The more fans there are, the better our odds of getting the story continued.

Take care and keep flyin'!

SHOREGUY

FOX = DEATH to a SHOW. Notice how regular TV has gone so downhill. Teenie bop shows or Overkill crime dramas plus stupid American Idol. Just like radio thank GOD for Satellite. Only wish a couple more scifi like channels would pickup shows like FIREFLY.
