May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Last thread was getting a bit long so time for a new one.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We represent a newly-formed unit of Independent soliders at the outbreak of the hostilities (prior to Du Khang and Serenity Valley).
First and foremost, remember that this is a fan-based organization, and our first rule is "Show up. March. Have Fun!"

Our inaugural march took place at DragonCon in Atlanta in September of 2007.

We do have a few rules and regulations that must be met in order to be considered as a member, including uniform requirements and weapons requirements. These will be outlined below. Please be sure to read over all the information and confirm that you can meet all of these requirements before applying for membership. We are not trying to keep people out, but we do want to present a united, uniform Battalion of Independent soldiers, and one of the best ways to do this is to look the same.

I'll have to check again, but IIRC, the Browncoats were wearing WWI US helmets, not WWII.

The whole battle had a very WWI feel to it overall, with the trenches, OPs, and just barely into WWII with the quad AA mount.

Y'all a bunch of pansies. Last year I was out in 126, except during the 35 day sandstorm, when it cooled down to 115. My feet literally cooked in my steel toes--I had to peel bits of cooked skin off.

Then the wind blew off the Arabian Gulf and humidity shot up to 85%. Remember that's RELATIVE humidity, and hot air holds more moisture. I'd guess without looking at the chart that that was about like 110* and 100%.

By late September it would get down to 80* by about 0400.

Welcome Mike.

Nope, definitely WWII U.S. M-1 helmets as we verified in screen caps and viewings. Some of us have them, but others opted for cheaper Russian surplus helmets found online. I prefer the M-1 as it fits better and is canon.

The Battle of Serenity did have a bit of a WWI feel to it due to the trench warfare, but then again there was some of that seen in WWII as well. Not to the same extent of course, but you get my meaning.

So, you're stationed overseas in the Gulf?

Yeah, in The Message those are definitely standard steel pots. It must just have been carry over feel I got in "Serenity" (episode). It also looked like the Fed Zoe ventilated had a Nazi bucket helmet.

I've been to the Sandbox twice. It's hot. It's sandy. It sucks. It was that way 3000 years ago, I hear. It's that way now. It will probably be that way in another 3000 years, or 3 million, for that matter.

Feeling for you bud. Was there myself for the first Gulf War. And you're right with the sandbox being never changing. No doubt it will be like that until the lights go out.
