Dude (it's gotta be a guy, right? Like that 'Trinity' feller),

How much is FFFn costing you a month? If it's on par with site hosting I'm familiar with, I might be able to just donate two weeks or even a month's worth to the cause, if it's polite to ask.

Then maybe somebody else could pony up a month, et cetera, until you had your nut paid for, for the year. That way, anything you get from clicks you could just keep for yourself, for the time you've spent making the place look great. I, myself, can't click on advertising 'cause I got it all blocked; otherwise, I'd have all kinds of critters on the HDD0. As it is, I can't get 'em off my email without blowing away my address, which I can't do.
(Think: Sifting through 158 ads for Viagra, home loans, online college, and teen-aged farm girls -- every day -- just to get to 2 pieces of actual mail from elderly rels. Sheesh! I mean, I think as highly of teen-aged farm girls as the next guy -- I just hope he's not standing too close to me when he's thinking of 'em -- but a college degree? Where does the insanity end?)

Seriously, I was just trying to think of some way to say 'Thanks' for providing us with a place to come and share our thoughts on the greatest series in television history...

Respectfully,

zoid

I'd pony up a few bucks myself, should the need/opportunity arise. But I doubt I'd be able to give enough to keep the site going for long

Zoid, your heart's in the right place. And I'm not just thanking you on Haken's behalf. A donation benefits us all.

I would say that a lump sum donation might intimidate most of us. Thefop thinks a donation of one or two dollars doesn't matter much, but that's really the idea here - donate a small amount. If many folk think their $1 is worth something, they'll donate, and all those people make a difference.

How many people are here? I don't know, but my Firefly Personality Test got 2000 hits in a day. So if everyone donated $1 - Wow. No pressure, no guilt. We all do what we can.

SaintJayne is clearly an unacknowledged genius. look how many browncoats pass through this site everyday. If anybody willing kicked in a dollar, or a few bucks. Whatever coin you can afford....anyhow, think about it! Money could be raised pretty easily.

Also, somehow a bunch of people going "sure, here's a buck" and keeping a site running feels like it meshes well with firefly. very browncoat. We will hold this valley.
