Has anybody noticed the Alliance soldiers armour is the same armour as that used by MI in Starship Troopers? This has probably been posted before, if it has, sorry.

There is a special level of hell reserved for people who talk in the theatre ;)

Yep, sorry.. this was posted a while ago.. I should have checked the archive first. Anyway, the first thing I thought was that the universe in Firefly and the Starship Troopers universe could easily be the same one.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Yes, we have discussed the Starship Trooper costumes several times. Seems they are very cheap to rent and Joss will save money where he can.

Just a bit of trivia on this. . .

One of the incarnations of "Power Rangers" . . .the local cops/soldiers/whatever used these uniforms as well.

There were thousands of sets made and they DO rent very cheaply. I'm thinking this is the same reason the Alliance soldiers in the 'flashback' scenes having to do with the war ('Serenity'; 'The Message') were wearing Nazi helmets. Lots of them lying around in a prop room somewhere.
