I Have Chosen 3 Game Developers Who Have Already Developed Games Based off Movies or TV Shows and Think They Would Make a Really Good Firefly Game

Bioware -
They made Star Wars Knights of The Old Republic Which Made a Whole Lot of new Stuff for a Licence that has been used many Times.
Also They Made Last Years IGN Game of the Year Mass Effect 2.

Rocksteady -
They Made Batman Arkham Asylum Which Had Great Fan Service and I Made People Interested In The Batman Animated Series.

Pandemic Studios -
The Folks Behind Star Wars Battlefront 1 and 2 Which Use their Licence well and Are Extremely Fun they Also did a Good Job With Lord of the Rings Conquest.

Reply Saying Who you Think Would Make A Good Firefly Game

BTW Do you Think the Firefly Fanbase has it in them to Get a Developer to Make A Firefly Game?

Blizzard - cause they don't make bad games.

No, I don't think the Firefly fanbase is anywhere near what it needs to be for a game to be made for us. Otherwise there would already be a game made for us. It's already been talked about a few times but it never goes anywhere.

We're just way too small a fandom. We're passionate and vocal but we're tiny and that makes us weak.

Rockstar - because no other game developer would let Mal kick someone through a ship's engine.

Uh that developer would probably start a blog about how annoying the Firefly fandom is. We'd likely create an enemy who would make it his mission to destroy anything we might enjoy.

Besides standard developers don't get much say in the gaming industry. Unless you're the lead on a few huge hits you just make what you're told. At least that's what I hear. Doesn't mean they can't make a game crummy if they hate us though :-(

Yanno, I actually have a few contacts at Rockstar who used to be with Interplay, both companies, IMHO, which kicked out damn awesome games.

Thing is, the property license would add to the expense, so would y'all still be interested if they instead made a firefly-ish game ?

I'm kinda surprised no one has rolled something of the like out yet, given the success and cult-classic value of open sandbox spacing like Privateer or Freespace/Freespace Discovery.

Closest MMO would be Eve Online, but the hostile community turns a lot of folk off, not to mention a disastrously unbalanced game engine that more or less hands over non-pirates on a silver plate to those who are, easy pickings - nobody wants to pay $20/month for the "entertainment" of being some griefers bitch, over and over without even the ability to defend themselves.
(admittedly realistic, but too much so, since folks play games for escape from being stomped on by life)

Anyhows, worth a mention next time I embarass my RS buddies in some online racing.

I'm not sure who I think would make a good Firefly game but I know it won't be Pamdemic since they closed down a while ago.

I dunno about Blizzard, while I still play World of Warcraft, I have some security concerns about their new Battlenet system. And while I'm sure they would make a good MMORPG (which is the kind of Firefly I think I'd be interested in, with guild/crews with ship guild houses), any game they made would probably rely on that system.

Space Pirates and Zombies has a very Firefly feeling setting, from what I understand.

And there's the Firefly-ish fangame I'm working on... Though I haven't heard from the project manager in a while. And because of my job and because I'm the only artist, spriting the thing is going pretty slow.

And really, if they just added some spaceships to Red Dead Redemption, along with the zombies from Undead Nightmare standing in as Reavers, they'd just about be there.

There's plenty of twisted humor in the game already, the kinds of things you might hear Mal or Jayne say. For instance, when your character is skinning animals (the fur and claws are good for making money or trading for medicine in the game), he'll say things like "What have you been eatin'?" or "Just lie still! Heheheh..." Always reminds me of Jayne - "Pain is scary."

But really, I think Rockstar could pull it off with the closest "feel" to Firefly and Serenity, as far as the humor and smart-assedness of the characters.
