Was just reading one of my old sci-fi books (Ace book, price 40 cents, copyright 1963), Space Viking, by H. Beam Piper. Story of the Sword-worlds, feudal remnants of the fallen Federation, who send ships to raid the neobarbarians on the old federation planets.

Anyway, one of the Sword-worlds, Gram, had a noble family, the Gorram, who built spaceships. Coincidence?

BTW, for you LOTR fans, one of the semi-civilized planets in the old federation was Gimli.
