Originally aired during the Teen Awards on Monday night, this latest Firefly trailer is the best yet. If you missed it, I have it here:

You will need the Divx 5 codec to view.

Hmm... it appears as though it has footage from an episode outside of "Serenity."

The trailer, while it is the best yet, still doesn't illustrate Firefly for what it is... though, the publicity team is getting closer. Maybe with the next minute long trailer, they'll have it down? *sigh*

No, PR people are just not capable of figure this stuff out.

About that DivX codec. If you try to play the file on Windows, and don't already have the codec, Media Player downloads it automatically. Or rather it downloads a code -- it's not the right one. That why you get an audio only playback.

Fix is to download and install the correct codec from the DivX site:

http://www.divx.com/divx/index.php

I'd suggest not downloading the adware version, which is selected by default. Adware these days tends to also be spyware. And spyware can really your system.

Oh and Haken, you might consider providing video files as is, instead putting them in a .zip file. The only point of that is to compress the file -- and video files are already compressed.

Other than getting a bit more compression in, which it does, the reason for the zip file is to prevent the video from streaming off the web server when someone clicks on it instead of doing a Save Target.

I guess that makes sense. Sort of a pain to have to extract the file before viewing it, though.
