Hey Guys, I have built this this Firefly control console out of lego ( http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/13185).

What do you think?

It has all of the following elements from the show:

THE RED BUTTON
complex geometry cockpit
Dinosaurs! (frogs actually, Lego does not make dinosaurs THAT small)
Mug
The two "desk lights"
The interpersonal video coms.
the keyboard
The two screen panel with the video camera in the middle that Mal uses to call people.
The yellow cables that run along the back "right" of the cockpit and in the middle of the
core console (represented by gold rod and tile with cables)
Ressessed blue view screens
The round "sensor dish" all the way to the left.
A control stick that can easily rotate.
The silver round thing near the right hand console area (blocked by the Wash minifig)

Thanks in advance for any feedback!

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Shiny! Now all you have to do is build Serenity around that console.

Thanks!

I have built a few "full scale" things before but they actually take away form the character's too much, has been my experience.

Were I to build the firefly around Wash...you could not see wash anymore. I mean...imagine watching Firefly if you could not see inside the ship?

Also, you usually have to sacrifice too much to make it happen. The MOC that would hold this console would be Enormous, so I would have to cut down on the scale...and then this console would turn into a single simple plate :(

I hope my math is right here. The average minifig is 1.5", say the average BDH height is 6', Serenity is approx 191' long and 128' wide. An actual scale model of Serenity in Lego would be about 4' long and a bit over 2 1/2' wide.
One cool but big model!
