The Usa Today Critic had these words to say about the upcoming pilot for Firefly (airing this Friday at 8:00) during an internet chat.

Quote:

Milwaukee: You asked me to post again this week -- Any thoughts about Firefly? Did the problems from the original pilot get resolved? (And as a bonus: How in blazes is Joss Whedon going to keep up?)

Robert Bianco: I don't know how Whedon is going to do all the work he has to do this season - but I can tell you he's done a great job on "Firefly." I liked the original pilot, but this second version is a much better introduction for the series - funnier, faster and more exciting.

The full chat log is available at http://cgi1.usatoday.com/mchat/20020916001/tscript.htm but I should tell you that the section I copied is toward the bottom and it is fairly long.

"It looks like a great adventure...That's what it is; that's what it feels like. When I saw the pilot, it was really engaging. It was exciting. It was unusual. It threw me off every now and then. I think people will be grabbed by it." - Ron Glass, on the pilot, during an interview with the Indianapolis Star
