I was at Dragon*Con this year and Peter David mentioned talking to Wheadon's people last year, mentioned that he co-created and wrote Space Cases and that he adored Jewel (who, as most of you know, was on Space Cases and was an engineer there as well).

Someone in the crowd suggested he contact her and write for Firefly. Heh heh. He was rather agast at the idea of begging her for a job :)

It was cool. I just thought I'd mention it.

Anyone else think he'd be a natural as a writer for Firefly? I've read most of the books he's written and he has a unique sense of humor that I think would go over very well with the show.

yeah!

Love Peter David... He's the only one that does really, really good Star Trek-books...

Even started reading Supergirl due to his writing... :)...

(really) Late post to the thread, but Peter David seems to be a fan of the work by Whedon and company. One of his comics included a visit to the set of "Wendy the Werewolf Killer", a recent issue of Fallen Angel where a character is in an asylum dreaming that she belongs in another world (and playing on the television in the background is the similar Buffy episode).

And in the most recent issue of Friendly Neighborhood Spider-man (#22), Spidey complains that nothing has been going right since Drive was cancelled by Fox.

Check out Peter's Spike versus Dracula mini-series for IDW. It's very good indeed. It was lovely to see him writing for the Buffyverse/

Hey, that'll be really great - I've shared a bevvy or 10 with Peter at many a UK con and he's a fab guy.
