At the December 4th piss-up, sorry I mean shindig, I volunteered to
organise the next event.

So here is my proposal.

Dates: either Saturday 29th January or Saturday 5th Febuary

Venue: The South London Pacific

Transport: Night Bus 3, 36, 59, 133, 155, 159, 185, 333, 436 going
South, North, Paddington, Victoria, Liverpool Street, Lewisham ooh
simply everywhere!

Positives: No hire charge, Space for 40 to 50 people, open from 8
until 2am. Free entry before 9pm (£5 afterwards). Extremely groovy
music and decor. Friendliest clientele I have ever met. Excellent
cocktails. Sometimes a band plays (surf, 60s garage, film & TV themes)

Negatives: I don't think under 18s will be allowed, although if there
are just one or two I could lie and say it was my Eleventy-first
birthday or something. Music cranks up at about 10 so no time for
quizzes. No draft beer, just bottles (although at South London prices
£2.70 - same as Gin and Tonic etc.)

Please give me the thumbs up/down and I'll make the decision before
Christmas is upon us.

Sounds like a plan to me. I couldn't make the last event but as far as I know either of the two dates shouldn't be a problem.

See everyone there I reckon

That's a very persuasive argument for the 5th....

you get 100 union block votes.

Another person on the Uk firefly message board has gone for the 5th too.

There is some debate over the venue, but it's always good to get the date first.

The 5th is fine for me, it's the day before my birthday so everyone can help me celebrate!

Not sure about the venue. I live in Essex and don't drive, so it would be extremely difficult for me to get there and, more importantly, to get back.

I will be looking for alternative venues more central.

It is sounding more like the 5th.

Darn that under 18s rule :-p I live a few hours away and was gonna catch the train down... but alas, I have three months till my 18th in May. Me and my mate needed an excuse to be in London LOL!

Failing that, y'all should come to Stoke-on-Trent Its pretty much central... England, anyway. Not so much central London lol.

Out of curiosity, did you guys make a decision as to the date/venue etc? Like I say, unlikely I can attend for obvious reasons but you can't blame a girl for being curious.

ETA. Oh, what's the link to the UK Firefly message board...?

Definitely on Saturday February 4th.

Venue is looking like a room in Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese on Fleet Street.

I'll be able to confirm it by the end of next week.

Cool - I live in Essex, so it will only take me about 20 minutes to get there by tube. Couldn't have planned it better myself (since it's my birthday weekend!)

They do have food. Its a huge place. Don't know whether food will come to the room booked, but get there early and get your grub in another bar.

They've made a provisional booking today and as soon as they receive my confirmation I'll give full details.
