I posted this is another thread, but I think it warrants a thread all by itself. You guys DON'T want to be spoiled. Some guy on another board went to a test screening and spilled the beans on massive spoilers. I read them and I wish Jayne would just shoot me with Vera right now.

If you really need a hint...

HELL'S KITTEN

Just out of curiosity, why do people feel the need to... I dunno how to put it... "save" people from themselves? I mean - and I'm not trying to be pissy about this, I just honestly don't understand - what is it to you if I "spoil" something for myself?

The problem with the Buletin boards are that they are open forums and as such are open to this sort of thing - personally, I have seen the movie (at the UK Screening) and it`s complete in such that there`s a full story but, there may be changes before the final release.

Having a dedicated Yahoo or MSN group (or similar) with password protected membership whould be a better way to distrbute spoilers without spoiling it for others - no matter who you are if somebody puts in a message `Don't Read` inivitably human beings will see what there is to be read, it`s human nature and can`t be avoided.

Incidently I would like to say that of the UK viewers of the screening, I have yet to see a spoiler posted by anyone from that viewing - that`s not to say that there hasn`t been any but I think there is more self-control.

I also appreciate that more U.S. citizens have viewed screenings and that there may be more of opportunity to spread the word via soilers.

That`s just my pennies worth.

Zol.

Also the UK screening was attended only by Firefly fans, that great group of people, who naturally respect the right of other Firefly fans not to be spoiled before the movie is shown. Whereas the US audiences had several civilians who are much more likely to say spoilers about the movie in public.

The flip side to it is that I and other screenees now know the answers to lots of questions. The more people that know the answer to the questions, the easier it is for the answer to leak out, not even deliberately but by omission or implication.

For example, if you hadn't seen the Sixth Sense but were on a board for it (go with me on this) then if someone asked "Do you think Bruce Willis will do a sequel?", what can you say?

Still, it's a free country, if you must damage (not ruin, I must add) your movie experience, do so.

Are you implying that something happens to Bruce Willis during Sixth Sense that would prevent him from making a sequel!?! I haven't seen it! Ha!

Fortunately for me, I don't really care about Bruce Willis, but if I see Serenity spoilers I won't be able to come back here for a while... Tash had to do the same thing. There were too many spoilers in title's and such that even reading the front page of this board got to be too much.
