Mal did something I TOTALLY would have done in his position.

The following dialogue is paraphrased...

The Operative: I've come to you as a gentleman. I'm unarmed.

Mal: Good. (Draws pistol and fires!)

BOOYAH!!!!

Now. . .

I'm pretty damn sure that Mal didn't HIT the Operative, or if he did, he didn't manage to kill him. Dunno. That just strikes me as an early scene. They're both to "clean" to have been facing off in any kind of conflict yet. . .but I LOVED that!

That's why I love Mal. No bulls**t. Oh, look. Some Lawman's got a gun to a young girl's head. *BLAM!* Dead lawman.

Oh gee. Some steroid-case is threatening me after I try to make nice. *KICK* Let's try this again.
