Here it is folks... our very own message board dedicated to fan powered promotion of Firefly and Serenity!

Let's hear a....

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

and a big ol'...

Haaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwww!!!

This is our corner of the 'Verse to come up with guerilla marketing ideas, network, get resources, share our recruiting stories, and generally keep fighting the good fight.

There will be more features added to this shiny site, but here's our first serious step into taking all the enthusiasm for continuin' the 'Verse, and actually getting a bit more organized about it.

When we join together... we are MIGHTY.

Repost from another thread ~ regarding the subject of the future of Firefly/Serenity

If there's money to be made, a studio will make a production. It's true that the box office returns for Serenity were lower than hoped for. (There are several legitimate arguments regarding the promotion, or perhaps insufficiency thereof, which can be made in that regard... but that's another thread topic.) The thing is that there are far more Firefly/Serenity fans now than there were last year when Serenity was released. Serenity itself created those new fans... plus the word of mouth of existing fans and very real Firefly and Serenity DVD sales that continue quite well on Amazon.

The reason why fans have a legitimate hope for sequels is that the cast all signed 3 picture contracts with Universal for Serenity. Their contracts all have a built-in clause for a trilogy.

Joss wants to tell more stories of the 'Verse, he has stated that he has hundreds of yet untold stories. The cast love playing their roles, and they genuinely enjoy working together. The fans of course will respond immediately to more incarnations of the 'Verse. Though Serenity did not make huge profits when it was released (and low numbers were the story for all movies released during that same time) Serenity did receive overwhelmingly great reviews and many awards.

So here's where it's at:

• Joss wants to do more.
• The cast want to do more.
• The fans are aching to have more.
• The production itself was widely acclaimed.

The ONLY thing missing from the above formula for green lighting a sequel is "Great box office returns". That's it. Just comes down to getting bigger audience numbers... connecting more with main stream audiences. A studio wants to make money. They are not going to say "no" to a profitable franchise. The thing is, Serenity's profits weren't that bad, and the movie has climbed into profit with the DVD sales. But the returns weren't in the blockbuster range, and Universal has to think how best to utilize their wonderful new acquisition: Joss Whedon.

Universal is most likely biding its time and seeing how things develop after the release of Serenity. If the fan base keeps growing, if the DVD sales stay strong, if the merchandise keeps selling, then there will be good reason for them to mount another production in the future. Again, they are a busines and they want to make money.

Once they see that the audience numbers justify another investment, Universal will be glad to press that green light.

11th Hour

P.S.
I personally would prefer some type of return to a series on TV, even if the seasons were shorter like the shows on HBO. Firefly/Serenity really bloom when they have the space and time to expand the stories and explore the characters. Remember, Universal owns the Sci-Fi Network so they do have a built-in way to distribute their television productions.

A few guerilla marketing ideas to get started. These ideas are tried and true, and a lot of fans have been using these methods. But there are a lot of new people discovering FFF.net, new to the 'Verse and maybe new to guerilla marketing too, so we'll start with the solid basics and move on from there.

It's usually best to start new people with Firefly, saving Serenity for after they have seen the series. But a lot of fans saw Serenity first and then discovered Firefly, so it doesn't have to be a rule set in stone.

Word of mouth is great, but seeing is believing!

If new people are hesitant to purchase their own Firefly/Serenity DVDs, loan them yours. Let them get introduced to the 'Verse and the chances are good they'll want to purchase their own sets!

You can also introduce the series to new people with a gift of a Firefly episode through iTunes! These episodes can be played on either an iPod, or watched on computer with the iTunes program (Mac or PC, and FREE) and QuickTime. The ability to send the Firefly pilot "Serenity" as a gift, via email, for only $1.99 is an incredibly great guerilla marketing opportunity.

Wear Your 'Verse Proudly!

Wearing Firefly/Serenity inspired clothing, or a pin, gets the 'Verse out there in the world. You never know who you'll strike up a conversation with about what your wearing. A great way to start talking about Firefly/Serenity and get their curiosity going for this phenomenon.

Host Your Own Screening Party!

Hey, have some real fun with guerilla marketing. Host a Firefly screening party, invite folks who you think would really enjoy the 'Verse. Feature Firefly inspired goodies and decorations. Screening parties can be held at your home, or if you live in an apartment complex or dorm that has a community room... then make use of it! A great way to introduce Firefly to a lot of people at once, and have a fun time doing it!

Posters, Flyers, Handy "Mini" Flyers!

Make use of classic guerilla marketing... whether you call it "wild positng" or "street marketing"... spread the word with bold, eye-catching Firefly/Serenity posters! Post 'em the way the cool bands and clubs do.... really goes with the "rebel" browncoat spirit. Plus there's the "mini" posters which are great to leave in all kinds of places for folks to pick up... also always take a bunch with you. When you talk about Firefly/Serenity to someone, you can give 'em a mini poster as a great reminder to check out the DVD.

Firefly/Serenity Guerilla Marketing Posters can be found at: http://the11thhour.home.att.net

Also check out all the other ideas on the site!

Banners!

Use Firefly and Serenity banners wherever you can! There's lots of fan made banners available... pick one you think really gives a good feeling of Firefly/Serenity AND creates curiosity... a design that catches the eye. You can also design your own.

For anyone who would like a ready-to-go banner, here's one to help get you started:

There are many, many, MANY, more ways to guerilla market Firefly. More ideas from the FFF.net Event Team are coming, and creative ideas are always welcome. Remember, a big part of what we want to accomplish is to reach out to folks who might not usually know about a show like Firefly, or Serenity. We really can reach even further than established Sci-Fi fans. The writing and performances are so brilliant and intriguing that Firefly/Serenity crosses genre borders.

There's lots and lots of folks out there who don't know they're browncoats. Let's help them find out!

As I saw on 11th Hour's guerilla marketing site, I printed up small labels to go inside the Serenity DVD cases:

From fireflymovie.com:
• Rental DVDs. Any time you rent a sci-fi, western or action movie, put a small flyer or sticker on the case underneath the DVD. Where the renters will see them, but employees inspecting the cases won't. 11th hour's mini-posters would work great for this! Add a personal handwritten message that says something like "If you like this movie you'll love Serenity, in theaters September 30. Visit serenitymovie.net (or or favorite site)" (Thanks Toby). [PDF template with 11th's posters coming soon...]

Mine read: "If you liked Serenity, check out the series this movie was based on: Firefly. Log on to fireflyfans.net for more information!"

EDIT: For those new to Firefly guerilla marketing ideas, I HIGHLY recommend 11th Hour's site: http://the11thhour.home.att.net

My son went to WallyWorld to buy Serenity for a birthday present. He and 5 friends. When they found not an iota of FireFly/Serenity merchandise they started yelling out - WHAT NO SERENITY! NO BEST-SCI-FI-MOVIE EVER MADE? WHAT NO FIREFLY WHATS TO DO! WHATS TO DO!

OK so they got thrown out. But if that isn't guerilla marketing, I don't know what is!

LOL!

edit - I have a grunch of shiny car stickers I got on ebay. I have been putting one in every letter and package I mail. People call and ask me what it is from - so I tell'em!

I put a banner from this site on my Myspace page and found the "Ballad of Serenity" and put it on my site as well, so people can hear the song and then come to this site. I get a lot of hits per day, like in the 20-30 range.
I'm also buying my friend the Firefly Complete Series DVD boxset and Serenity movie when he gets back from bootcamp or if he can't get back, I'll have his parents give it to him at his graduation at the end of this month. That way he can get into it, cause he was meaning to see the show when it was new, but like me, forgot. I'm pretty sure he'll spead the Browncoat enthusiasm within the army ranks.

Very nice of you to say... thanks.

There will be even more features added to this site very soon. The FFF.net Event Team has actually been doing a lot of work behind the scenes for a while now. We're getting a lot of ideas and materials organized so we can set-up a comprehensive, dedicated area just for promoting Firefly and Serenity.

These things end up taking a bit longer than anticipated, "real life" keeps getting in the way! But the team is a shiny one and very committed to the fans and the 'Verse. We also have to work within Haken's available time because he is a very busy guy. But new features are comin' very soon. Until then, we can certainly come up with ideas, network and make things happen!

Just thought this quote would be good for fans to remember ~

"As long as I was able to service the characters with integrity and had enough money so that I wasn't hampered, then I would love to return Serenity to TV. I love that universe; it continues and those characters live on. There could be a series, there could be a miniseries, there could be all sorts of things. I'm not ruling anything out. I'll let it simmer for a while and see if anyone calls." -- Joss Whedon

Keep fighting the good fight.

Excerpt from a post from Joss today on Whedonesque ~

"Some other little irons in the fire, when they're hot I'll pull 'em out and brand you. Keep the faith, spread the love, take the red pill, smell the coffee, fight the power, do the hustle, mow the lawn, eat the rich, Mott the Hoople, kick the can, bag the toads and If They Move, Kill 'Em. xoxo -j."

http://whedonesque.com/?comments=11198#138754

Keep the faith. Fight the good fight. There IS reason to hope.

(Okay, I realize Joss was being pretty cryptic, and there's a lot of room for interpretation in what he almost says, but he already relayed news in the post about Buffyverse, Goners and Wondy Gal, so what's left... huh, HUH? Josscode has a way of getting through...)

HOW DO WE GET FIREFLY BACK ON SCIFI CHANNEL?

That's the fastest way to recruit new blood.

Universal owns SciFi, and thus owns broadcast rights for both Firefly and Serenity. So Serenity needs to be looped on Scifi too.

Let's post the names, addresses, faxes, phones and emails to contact the individuals who can make this happen. Then just bug the heck out of them until they cave in to our demands.

Besides, I resubscribed to SciFi just for FF, and all I got was stinkin WWF!

Execs don't like that and will ask to have their names and contact details taken down. It's happened before. A letter writing campaign to the general SciFi channel address is always a good idea. Avoid emailing, the school of thought is that letter writing impresses the tv execs more.

We really don't want our fandom to look like a bunch of demanding kids, bugging their parents incessantly, until they get what they want. That tactic, more than likely, will place us squarely in the crazy, fringe fanatic category. Studios aren't interested in that demographic.

What studios like is a widespread audience, with a healthy represenation of the 18 to 34 crowd, that like to spend money on watching movies (or TV shows) and buying merchandise.

Look to the studios not like withholding parents, but rather as the folks with the power whom we need to demonstrate to that Firefly/Serenity is a viable and profitable business endeavor. Convince them that the 'Verse is well worth the investment of their resources.

The audience for the 'Verse has grown significantly since Serenity was first released, and it continues to grow. Our main goal as fans is to keep spreading the word, keep the demand for more Firefly/Serenity increasing. Then the studios will be motivated to make more because the 'Verse can be a great money generator, plus a critically acclaimed production, for them. That's a highly desirable combination for a studio.

SEAOTTER

Hi, all!

I was thinking about the fact that I use a Firefly banner here and on my other Firefly forum, and use URU Live banners on my URU forums.

Which is like preaching to the choir in both cases.

So I'm switching! And it's a good thing, because now 12 forums where people don't already know (and adore) Firefly will be seeing a Firefly banner, and these two will be seeing my URU Live sig.

I finally did the math.

So please do not take this as me leaving the cause -- just putting the gif's where they'll do the most good!

Thanks so much for everything you guys do to keep our momentum going!

Great idea SeaOtter! I don't have two things I would normally want to banner...at this point Firefly is it for me exclusively, but I just thought that since so many friends of mine are interested in doing something to help Stargate SG-1 and I was a fan too.. just not like of Firefly... that I might share a few Stargate SG-1 banners for a while on some other places I post.
Be nice to help out my friends and it's nice to tell folks in a way that's nice to look at about what we love.

Your urulive banner is cool by the way!

But...I have to admit I'll be posting with way more Firefly banners than SG-1.

letters (as opposed to e-mail which are easy) have been considered impressive to execs and politicians in the past,
but I think that 11th Hour is right here:
our being die hard consumers who never go away is even stronger.

I think the buying of extra DVDs AND the extra screenings of Serenity last June made a big impression....

I'll be seeing Serenity again at a theater in Oakland on Sept 21st,
right before attending the Browncoats Ball that weekend.

Star Trek managed to become a major franchize because they didn't go away, they hung in there for a decade.... I think we can manage to hold on particularly since Joss is doing his part by keeping in touch and creating some comic books to tide us over.

I'm sure we'll get our sequel (I'm still hoping for a mini series)

How does SciFi Channel's demographic include Wide World of Wrestling(!), but not Firefly? Is it due to WWF being as scripted as any other fiction, with the biochemisty of steroids fulfilling the science requirement?

How did the roidragers get on Scifi, by writing letters? Can WWF fans read and write? That's about as bright as MTV refusing to play music anymore, as if TV needs another scripted "reality" show.

If we wait too long, the Serenity crew will need facelifts, just like the Trekkie stars. BTW, did you see em at Comedy Central's roast of Shatner this past week? Damn, that's OLD! Uhura told Kirk to "kiss her big black ass". And Andy Dick dressed up as a gay Mr Spock. Is that all we have to look forward to with Firefly 2050 - Andy Dick nude impersonating Mal's striptease?

So what's the snailmail "contact" address at SciFi Channel? Who in what dept is it addressed to?

All I'm suggesting is treat it like any political lobbying effort by a PAC, but without all the bribery, whining and dining, hiring prostitutes, vacation junkets, free gifts, etc. In Poly Ticks (many blood sucking creatures), a single letter with a human signature is worth more than 13,000 anonymous votes. Of course, a bribe is worth even more. Maybe instead of buying DVDs, we should just send bribes to the decisionmakers? In Poly Ticks, "campaign contributions" are called "legalized bribery" by Senator William Proxmire, in his Golden Fleece Awards.

SciFi Channel can certainly reach a lot of new fans, who still don't know the FF Verse exists. Many of those newbies will want to buy DVDs, to watch the epps they missed, plus all the extra goodies.

How does SciFi's propaganda PAC play into the FF Verse?

Quote:

Visions for Tomorrow is a multi-faceted campaign that fosters and supports the notion that individuals can have a significant and positive impact on the future. Through interstitial public service announcements, off channel symposiums, an informational web site, educational programs and advocacy-based public affairs efforts, Visions for Tomorrow will engage educators, students, cable operators, futurists, thought leaders and policymakers in a bold, new optimistic vision of tomorrow.

SCI FI Advisory Board
Visions for Tomorrow will tap into the insights of a newly formed SCI FI Advisory Board. Consisting of thought leaders from a variety of disciplines such as architecture, business, art, government, science and technology, the Advisory Board champions the idea that individuals from all walks of life can have a positive impact on the human condition. This working "think tank" sets the stage for fostering tomorrow's innovative thinkersÉtoday. Board members may serve as contributors to the Visions for Tomorrow web site.

Online Advocacy
SCI FI's public affairs web site, www.VisionsForTomorrow.net, serves as a portal for information and opinions on a range of issues, with an eye towards helping individuals to identify ways to constructively meet the challenges of the future. The web site inspires visitors to consider creative solutions, and to initiate positive change to address a broad range of concerns facing communities all across the country. The web site refers visitors to nonprofit and advocacy organizations that offer information, action steps and helpful ways to further engage educators, children, thought leaders and policymakers.

etc

A softsell would be to simply ask when FF will be rerun again, since SciFi still lists FF on its website. And ask when Serenity will get its first showing on SciFi, since its also owned by Universal/NBC.
www.scifi.com/firefly/

Is the hold up by Fox, refusing to allow FF a 2nd rerun? Is the holdup over the contract price? Inquiring minds want to know, as do many journalists looking for their next story.

Maybe we need to write for our right to scifi, since SciFi Channel is now officially DOA:

Quote:

(PRWEB) August 24, 2006 -- Effective November 1, 2006, the SCI FI Channel will change their name to SurgeTV, to reflect the changing demographic thrust of the successful long-running cable channel. In addition, deals are currently working out to bring back ECW for a three-times a week run in prime time, as well as reruns (Pre-WWE) of professional wrestling events.

www.mediablvd.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=40575

All this can be asked in a letter, but it's more likely to have impact if it's addressed to a human being than a corporation. Especially if it includes a cash bribe. I suggest $5 a pop. Sorry, but don't see the logic of comparing the demographic that watches Wrestling with the audience for Firefly. I'm sure there is some crossover, but hardly a basis for comparison.

Also it could be argued that a network that is seeking out to add a lot of wrestling programming isn't automatically assumed to be looking for a show like Firefly.

Quote:

Quote:

So what's the snailmail "contact" address at SciFi Channel? Who in what dept is it addressed to?

"Contact"? You have that word in quotes, but without any more details. There are many departments at Sci-Fi, and many different people in charge of different decisions. To have an effective letter writing campaign some clarity of thought and purpose will be required.

Quote:

Are you high?

Quote:

SciFi Channel can certainly reach a lot of new fans, who still don't know the FF Verse exists. Many of those newbies will want to buy DVDs, to watch the epps they missed, plus all the extra goodies.

Yep, that does make sense... and whenever the Sci-Fi Channel has shown Firefly, many fans have promoted the event.

What are the feedback emails for? Are those general emails? One says "help", is that for questions having to do with the website? There's a "contact us" and an "executive bio" address, all these addresses seem rather random and general.

A softsell would be to simply ask when FF will be rerun again, since SciFi still lists FF on its website. And ask when Serenity will get its first showing on SciFi, since its also owned by Universal/NBC.
www.scifi.com/firefly/

We can certainly inquire when Firefly will be shown again. As for Serenity, there was a notification on the message board not too long ago that it would be shown on USA Network first.

I hope this plan changes. It would be so much better to have Serenity make its broadcast debut on NBC, or the reworked Sci-Fi Channel. But if there's going to be that much wrestling, then maybe USA Network is the better choice.

Quote:

Is the hold up by Fox, refusing to allow FF a 2nd rerun? Is the holdup over the contract price? Inquiring minds want to know, as do many journalists looking for their next story.

Inquiring minds had better inquire then. I don't have all the inside info on this, but the FOX Network showing Firefly again is about as unlikely as things get.

Anyway, FOX "refusing" to allow a second run of Firefly? This question is whacked.

The Sci-Fi Channel has shown Firefly several times, what's the fixation on FOX?

Quote:

That will certainly catch their attention... If only to bribe the gatekeepers to make the delivery - so don't name the bribe in the written letter. It's like buying the secretary a cup of coffee for doing you a favor... Or say it's a "birthday gift". Ect.

It's now 3:18 a.m. and I owe you a letter and I don't know how many hours of sleep that will make that I get, lol, but I still wouldn't have touched answering PN with a 10 foot pole ( no offense PN, you're complicated.. admit it!) You're a brave lass Ms. 11th.

While I have you here and everyone else's undivided ( ?) attention too, thank you for the encouraging words about Joss' post. It means a lot to us that experienced Browncoats like you and NoSadSeven have said that we have cause for hope.

I also thank you for putting up with the hurting brain to try to keep us motivated. We appreciate it.

That's making great use of your commute... creative multi-tasking!

Guerilla marketing opportunities are always at hand, and every browncoat we recruit is someone who very possibly will go on to spread the word too. At some point all this word spreading is going to reach an impressive cummulative effect. We gotta just keep at it.

Not being gentle costs more.

Anyway, sincere brainstorming is always appreciated... after all, that's what this thread is for. So ideas are welcome... though suggestions made during a period of relative sobriety is appreciated... although that doesn't stop some folks... heh...

Actually, Universal is quite aware of the passion of our fan base, after all it is Universal who was the company that gave Serenity the green light. They saw first hand how devoted the fan base is, and worked quite closely with the fans over several months to assist with the promotional endeavors.

"Done the Impossible" is the story of how the Browncoats would not give up on Firefly, which greatly helped make Serenity a reality. But Universal was right there when it was happening... they greenlit the impossible.

Universal also conducted their own interviews with several Browncoats, and we told our stories. Some of the interviews were included in TV ads for Serenity, but most of them haven't seen the light of day. But again, Universal is very aware of our stories, and what lead to the movie being made.

"Done the Impossible" is a nice gift. But I have a feeling that since Mary Parent (the Universal exec who put the Serenity/Joss deal together) appears in the documentary, she must have already been given her own copy of the DVD as a thank you.

Keep your thinking cap on... Serenity/Firefly guerilla marketing can always use creative ideas.

Aha. So #11 is policing the entire FFF.net website. She puts the 500-pound "guerilla" in marketing.

Ah, the sweet stench of guerilla poo.

I noticed you censored my trolled post, and left out the best parts, and blocked me from editing it. What part of the First Amendment right to Free Speech is that? Or are you one of those Brits who considers the US Constitution an act of treason against The Queen?

The uncensored version:

Quote:

To believe that Joss' script has no relevance to its marketability is insane. To believe that Joss' CIA/MI6 employers don't care about Joss reporting on Top Secret CIA mind-control slave projects quacks of mind-control on this forum. Universal is owned by Carlyle Group, which is owned by Sir George Bush Sr Knight of the British Empire, British prime minister John Major, Queen Elizabeth of England, and the Bin Laden family.

Joss is a subversive soul. So long as he promotes vampirism, witchcraft and Satanism (which are REAL lifestyles of our world dictators at Bohemian Grove and Skull & Bones et al), he can employ his heros murdering mayors and bombing schools. I watched 2 hours of ANGEL's soap opera on TNT TV this morning, where Angel ordered a woman to sign a contract to sacrifice her baby in a Satanic ritual, and joked about "saving the world by murdering the mayor", and Spike joked about "saving the world by bombing the school", chasing a corpse's head and paying bribes to the Mafia for Wolfram & Hart in Italy, while all their ex-girlfriends gangbanged The Immortal. But discussing CIA's Project Monarch Manchurian Candidates is going too far in the eyes of the New World Odor Gangsters.

Firefly's propaganda value is also subverted by being the only scifi story ever created to allege space aliens don't invade Earth, which is also an official US Govt psyop to promote Global Govt dictatorship (aka The Alliance).

Which part of Truth made you go psycho, bitch?

If you believe the Fox boardroom don't discuss these facts, then you're truly insane.

I didn't censor anything. Just did a complete copy and paste, easy peasy. If there are any differences between the one I moved, and your "uncensored version", you put them there. Are you now resorting to lame tactics to support your paranoid fantasies?

You lack credibility, and manners. Moving your posts has more to do with keeping this thread on topic, and cutting down on all the bulk your incredibly long and off-topic posts create.

What's the matter, not enough traffic on your news website so you gotta post your rants here? C'mon....

I haven't deleted your posts, I moved them. They are still in existence for all to read. However, if you continue your very negative and disruptive posts, I'll just delete them. I don't have the time to keep moving them, since you can't seem to take a hint.

Bro, I think You are confusing a privately owned website with the US Government. The Government HAS to respect your right to "Free speech", however WE are guests in someone else's home here, and that homeowner has a certain code of conduct that they expect to be respected.

My Body is busted up pretty badly from protecting your right to free speech (among other things), but the code of conduct inside someone else's home is VASTLY different... The Homeowner makes the rules, the visitor respects them.

I never said to not write to Universal. If you look at my quote in the context of my reply to the piratenews post, I was expressing the importance of how we communicate with Universal. We don't want to come across as demanding kids, that is most definitely the wrong tactic.

Writing to Universal can be a very positive and effective endeavor, so long as we do it the right way. I even moved "The Anniversary Job" thread, a letter writing campaign idea, to this guerilla marketing discussion board so that it can be noticed more and included better in our Serenity Summer Campaign.

There are some recent posts in the "Just so we're clear on Universal... " thread that has some valuable insights on how best to communicate with Universal.

Aha. So #11 is policing the entire FFF.net website. She puts the 500-pound "guerilla" in marketing.

Just protectin' the integrity, and purpose, of this thread dude.

Interesting, Dian Fossey likes it too...

Are you now resorting to lame tactics to support your paranoid fantasies?

What's the matter, not enough traffic on your news website so you gotta post your rants here? C'mon....

P.S.
I'm done moving your posts. If you continue this behavior, it will be considered harassment and I will take the appropriate action.

You've got a website. Go work on it

I get up to 16,000 vistors per day on my 40+ websites. Plus my TV show reaches 110,000 TV sets. Plus my videos are broadcast on internet to untold 100,000s by Google, Indymedia, MySpace and Archive.org. FFF.net is just a tiny speck of dust in comparison. But Joss has a point to make with the Real World, contrary with those of you who choose to live in a fantasy world. So I do my humble part to relay Joss' message, which included broadcasting my FF music video to 110,000 homes via cable TV.

As for the Real World of Gangsta Govt's tortured mind-controlled slaves (aka River):

He was still wearing the clothing he had on the day he was taken. He is bound and gagged. The second photo is three boys all bound gagged. The boy on the far right is my son, Johnny. We do not have the identity of the other two boys. We are currently working with the police and the National Center for Missing Children in hopes of learning the identity of the other two boys. There are two families who would probably like to have news of their children. If anyone viewing the second photo knows who these boys are, please contact me." -NOREEN GOSCH, AUGUST 2006

These photos look like the photos of JonBenet Ramsey's dead body in her CIA parent's house:

Then John Ramsey campaigned for US Congress, to join all the other pedophile slave traders.

Cathy O'Brien and her lobotomized daughter Kelly were also composited into River's character, after being sold to the pedophiles in US Congress and the White House.

Even Scifi's Battlestar Galactica had a scene where pedophile sex slave traders were shown running the fleet, and even the military was afraid of them. Sounds like the scriptwriters were plagerizing the O'Brien family.

Don't you folks realize we're in the middle of a Civil War, and Tee Vee is the main battleground for Winning Hearts And Minds to overthrow USA for the NWO's global Alliance? Or did you not notice Mal was fighting a Civil War? When are you gonna wakeup to the fact that the current owners of FF are the Real World monsters that Joss warned you about?

What's Ms 800-Pound Gorilla gonna do about THAT? Draw a pretty picture?

BTW, thanx for not censoring my posts. Siberia is quite comfortable this time of year.

You're right 11th, we NEED to write... Joss asked the president of F*X "For his show back, PLEASE, so he could shop it around" the day they were canceled, and the President of F*X said "Yes, That's fine".

I found out this weekend That Joss can take the show Where ever he wants, so we just have to make someone "want it".. Sci-Fi may be the place, if approached right (we discussed Bonnie Hammer's Likes, and dislikes, in another thread)... She's receptive to good ideas when presented in the correct way.

Also, There have been NDA's (Non-Disclosure Agreements) Signed, and Joss is holding his cards close to the vest, but the Actors signed on for THREE movies, and every one I've talked to said "Movies, TV, Whatever".. Hey, Nathan called Alan on the Phone Several times during Dragon*Con.. they keep in CLOSE touch, the cast REALLY likes each other, and REALLY likes the 'verse, They are willing to do whatever it takes..

Joss has "Some other Projects" right now, but the sheer SIZE of the BrownCoat population at Dragon*con was staggering.. and like I said about "one person writing = X-amount that didn't write"... the same thing holds true for Dragon*con (or ANY "Con").. Out of the few of US that went, How many more DESPERATELY wanted to be there but couldn't go? So Every ONE of us that went represented How many more people that WANTED to be there? Atlanta couldn't have held them all... and The Eyes of Universal and Sci-fi were upon us.

The Movie is in the Black, the DVD sales are in the Black and STILL selling more (As in "More than they did last month") every month.

Like I've been saying, We just need to smooth the way for Joss for when he gets ready.. cause it's on his mind, it's on the Cast's Mind, and it's gone far enough That Alan Tudyk and Ron Glass have been told they'll be in "The next movies"...

You are doing the EXACT the right thing, I think the Whole G-Marketing team is doing the right thing... and we just need to keep smoothing the Road, because Universal IS listening, and WANTING to hear...

When a thing "Can't be done", We're the people that get the call, it's how I make my living... this happens to be a personal project that I INTEND to see "Get done". FFF.net has the right people, the right exposure, and the best Ideas I've seen going.. EXACTLY the right combination of items and people to "GET THIS DONE"... So it WILL get done.

BrownCoats don't seem to play the "I want to be the leader" game, so all we need to do is decide on a central meeting place to tie all of the top Browncoat Orgs together so we're all moving in the same direction... EVERYTHING we need is in place, or can be in place when it's needed.. ALL we have to do it get a handle on better coordination.. once THAT'S done, things WILL start moving forward.

So we first need to list the Top BrownCoat (FF/Serenity) Orgs and the people that run them... and we need to contact each one... then we decide on a meeting place, and several Goals (Always work several angles at the same time). Momentum is hard to build at first in something this size, so EXPECT THAT, Don't let a slow start disillusion you, just expect it, it's a normal part of the process... once it gets rolling, we'll be overwhelmed at what's been started.

Again, 11th, Whatever you folks need from me, let me know. If *I* don't know the answers, I have people on my staff that can GET them.

Fantastic news! I knew that "back in the day", right after F*X discontinued Firefly, that Joss arranged to be able to shop the show around to place it at another network. But over time we've all gotten a bit fuzzy as to where that all stands now. When facts are lacking, then rumors and assumptions prevail... and the word kept circulating that F*X was hanging onto the Firefly TV rights for at least 10 years, which prevented it from going anywhere else. So good to finally get some word that the option for a TV series is at least on the table with the other possibilities.

It's the unique bond between the actors, and Joss, and the fans, that does so much to keep us motivated to fight on. Firefly/Serenity is a phenomenon, well worth fighting for.

This is awesome news. The fandom and support just keep building. It's always been a matter of us never giving up, and continuing to spread the word. The numbers will keep growing and the studios are gonna notice.

There are so many movies released around the same time that cannot claim the kind of consistent, and growing, sales that Serenity enjoys. This is also the month leading to Serenity 'Versary, so we'll be bringing even more attention to the movie. We're working on reaching out to even more fans, and continuing to build those DVD sales.

Now there's some news to warm the heart. So good to hear.

Thanks for sayin'. We just keep moving forward, and believing. Faith is great, but hearing some actual good news makes a huge difference!

Word. You have the right attitude, and, as fandoms go, I gotta say... ours ROCKS!

Yes, a centralized place with great resources for new fans to get to know the 'Verse, and what we're doing... plus easy access for existing fans to find guerilla marketing materials, downloads, ideas, info and networking... this has been on my mind for a while now.

There's been a lot of work going on behind the scenes. Things have been taking a bit longer than anticipated, 'cause things never go smooth... but I can say that the FFF.net team and I have been working on a website devoted to boosting the signal. It's very close to completion, and as soon as it's ready everyone will see a huge announcement.

Also, there will be a section accessible on the home page of FFF.net that will organize a lot of important info that seems to always crop up. So instead of re-explaining things all the time, or having informative threads drop out of sight, this new area will be a place to get background on guerilla marketing, studio info, resources, links, and also a place to welcome new fans. All this guerilla marketing is geared to creating new fans, so we gotta have a shiny place for them to come to and get a handle on everything. The FFF.net site can be very overwhelming to the new folks, so we need a way to help introduce them to the place and feel t'home. Then we'll put 'em to work... heh...

Guerilla marketing can often be disillusioning, but also exhilarating. I did work with Haken to make this nifty guerilla marketing "box" so we'd always have an anchored place on the home page for people to find the promotion threads. But the activity has been somewhat light so far, and then there's those folks who've been using this thread for their own agendas. I tell ya, getting the guerilla marketing thing going is a tough slog most of the time.

But I'm a firm believer in momentum, and that it takes persistence to make a difference. By never giving up, then there will be a result. Hopefully now that the holiday weekend is over and people are settling out, for the most part, after Summer... interest will begin to pick up again. Plus there's all this good news we've been hearing that will do so much to reinvigorate the fans.

Hmmmm... there's you, plus you gotta staff? Hey, that sounds very cool. We are compiling the material for the new website this week. I have an outline set up and the structure of the site is basically mapped out. But we want this site to be very comprehensive, yet as easy to use as possible. So we'd always appreciate ideas and contributions to make the site as awesome as possible.

Let's stay in touch on this. Genuinely appreciate your positive energy and dedication to the 'Verse. Good things are happening.

Bad2Verse and 11th Hour,

The two of you are getting real work done in this thread. I have organized before, and what I am seeing done here is EXCACTLY what needs to be done to organize a lot of people, but from reading your posts, you already know that. So, I am just offering my services in any way I can. I am busy judging the video contest (Which, by the way, has a few very fine videos in it, I think it would be cool to put a couple on a page of the new site or Myspace page...but I digress) but once I am done with that, I will have a little free time to offer. Please let me know how I can help with these ideas.

Please keep the fire, the two of you are onto something, momentum needs to keep building, and Bad2Verse seems to have a lot of the info and connections that we just couldnt get before. The two of you working together could just do the impossible...

Well, I wanted to get the Site moving FAST again.. it was starting to slip in the search engines and that's not a good thing, but it looks like it WAY back up top again now, LOTS of people seem to be taking a new interest in the boards, which is VERY good.. as long as the boards are moving, we have a crowd, and that will help in our plans in the long run...

You know MUCH more than I about the "Lurker to poster" ratio here... and about Who Belongs to what other organizations..

I think the key here is to keep the Site's ranking HIGH, to get more people involved and talking again, keep the excitement up, and to get key people from other sites in one central spot for something like a monthly meeting to coordinate.

Things only happen if we MAKE them happen.. you seem to have an instinctive grasp on that fact, so I'm not telling you anything you don't already know.

With the anniversary coming up...I was wondering if an ad pool has started to purchase an ad in "Variety" or "LA Times" to celebrate?

I know Brokeback Mountain fans were able to raise lots of money and place ads in major publications throughout the US.

Should we be trying to do the same?

Any interest in this?
We all bring different skills to our interest to our love of Firefly and what I'd like to try is a spec article on the show, the fanbase, for a woman's general service magazine.
This would involve interviews with fans, creators, my personal experience, and more to the point, the outcome of the involvement with the series. Many science fiction stories appeal enough to fans to have them show up in costume at 'Cons. What is unique about the fan base for Firefly is the outgrowth of initial interest in the series as a jumping off point for additional creative acts that include almost equal male and female participation. This is a far cry from my first Star Trek 'Con experience where I was the oddity, a woman (girl at the time) interested in science fiction.
Rather than wallow in a cancelled show, Firefly has provided people (of all ages, ethnic backgrounds, sex, etc) a jumping off place to create and seek additional information. Which one of us hasn't made a costume, learned some Mandarin, create fan fiction, become involved in charity, design websites, create Done the Impossible DVD, and clubs?
Firefly was more than an interesting concept that included great writing and pretty actors. growth of the characters. What other series could include a mercenary like Jayne - dangerous to all, casually without comment, brushing the hair of one of the working girls in HoG without any diminishment of his 'bad to the bone' persona?
I cannot guarantee that I can get it published in a wide circulation publication but it certainly seems worth the effort.
Can I stir any interest here, with possible interviews and use of pictures?
I'm going to post this on the SEBC, fff.net and OB as well and if anyone knows anywhere else I can see if there is any interest, please let me know.

Hey...
I just want to say that is a shiny idea. I as a man, don't know if I can participate(its a woman's magazine right?), but I think thats terrific. Any exposure is great, and the 1st Anniversary of the movie Release(and approximately 4th Anniversary of the tv show release), is a perfect "excuse" to talk about the fandom, and how much has occured and been accomplished in these past few years.

Oh and for those talkingabout paying for a 1 page ad etc... 11th Hour has posted.. .which oucld be a better use of money and potentially more coverage...
