I’m a big user of the public library as reading is a much more affordable addiction that way. Anyway a few weeks ago I was thunderstruck by an IDEA. I printed up a bunch of 11th’s guerrilla marketing posters at a small (4” x 5”) size. Now whenever I return books I place a mini-poster or 2 in between the pages.
Then I started thinking “why just library books?” Sooo, last Sunday I took a bunch of minis to the book stores in the mall and surreptitiously slipped them between the pages of dozens of books. There are a lot of bookstore and malls in Houston. I intend to continue this activity until incarcerated or shot. Just my little contribution to the on going war against ‘Versal ignorance.

Yeah it is!

You can also use bookmarks with Firefly/Serenity info on them and slip them in comic books at your local comic store. Hera had this idea recently, I think there are bookmarks in the Blue Sun Room that she designed. Ones you can print off.

When you rent a movie, slip one of 11th Hour's mini posters in the case right under the DVD before you return it. I've done that here locally in my little town. Movies you borrow from the library too. Same thing.

11th Hour's posters are great for all the spots in your community where people put up posters. We have a big bulletin board at our local feed store that has become information central for farmers and ranchers here. I have some of 11th's posters up there. A couple Mal's and an Inara.

Every time I hand out a ticket at my business the week before the SciFi marathon I'm going to hand out one of 11th's redesigned mini posters ( they show the marathon's date, I'll bet she does it again too) with them.

Every little bit helps 'Coats.. it all helps.

I think it's a great way to tap into the people that are not into Sci Fi. It's great to spread the word to others.

Tomorrow morning (Sunday) I'm going to hit all the area convenience stores & put mini poster in the newspapers. Just under page 1, everyone reads that. Will also attack the magazine racks.

Oooo, you gave me an idea! We have a little community free ad paper around here. That'd be shiny to slip posters into too.

It's the largest circulating publication in our area, beating the local newspapers. Everyone gets these things, my husband is addicted to getting it once a week! Perfect for guerilla marketing. 11th!!!! I'm gonna need a bunch of those shiny posters.

My library also has a tray on the checkout desk with bookmarks in it. One side is full of cartoony ones for kids, the other just flowerdy or whatever ones for adults. I'm going to ask if I may leave some. Some Serenity/Firefly ones.
To match the Serenity and Firefly sets that are on the shelves there. and I'm going to write on the bookmarks that the library has them available for check out. Hera!!! I'm gonna need a bunch of those shiny bookmarks.

EXCELLENT idea for guerilla marketing! Simple, direct, and will certainly get folks' attention!

So good to hear when browncoats are out in the world doing the real guerilla marketing thing. Once you've done it... then you find out how fun it is!

For anyone who is interested, I've made some "special edition" guerilla marketing posters which announce the upcoming Firefly marathon on the Sci-Fi Channel. It's a good way to introduce people to the 'Verse in addition to the DVDs.

Here's an image of the mini poster sheet:

Each of the "mini" posters on this sheet are also available as separate letter size posters... and those can be enlarged to 11" x 17" if'n ya got the paper, the copy machine, and the gumption... heh...

Let's spread the word and help more folks discover that the heart of a browncoat beats in their chest.

P.S.
The link to my guerilla marketing poster website is in my signature. Also read further down on the webpage, there's LOTS of great ideas on how to use the posters!
