X-Mas Charity Drive?

We're coming up to christmas, and we need something christmas themed, right?

Well, whats more christmasy than giving to the needy? We don't we start a fund-raising campaign for a charity, I have no idea which yet. We, ALL of us, raise money for the charity, and donate the money in the name of Firefly.

As far as I know, money hasn't been donated to a charity in the name of a show before.

The results of this little thing are threefold, firstly; we raise money for the needy, always good, and secondly; we raise awareness of Firefly. Since all our fundraising should be Firefly-based.

Thirdly we get publicity, Universal may take notice.

Just an idea. Needs defining somewhat, but someone with more time can probably do that? Opinions?

I'm all for volunteering or donating to help those that need it. However, I worry it would be seen only as #3: publicity. If we do something as a group, I suggest organizations that are connected to Joss/BDHs. I know there are a few, but I don't know what they are. I know about Equality Now (Joss) and MCLEF (Adam). I thought Ron worked with one...anyone?
