This is an idea I have been thinking about. I discussed it a little with with Followmal on another thread. The idea is as follows....

The christmas hollidays are approaching and ask you self - what would be a really nice christmas gift for you as a Browncoat? Perhaps a signal from Universal, SciFi channel or other place/person that a new season or movie will be made?

Well then, send them your christmas wishlist on the back of a christmas card or in a letter! One never knows what Santa might bring, but you got to tell him what you want

Regarding a movie Universal should be targeted and a new season SciFi channel perhaps?

Lets decide on a date for this.

Have nice weekend all. Its late friday afternoon in Sweden and I have two days of doing nothing in front of me

Post often over the weekend PipewrenchDale! You keep the board lively and have come up with some good ideas!

We'll have to see how much of a consensus we get with this and also if there is time to do it with other stuff going on.

We're going to be pushing the fundraiser for Whedonverse until Halloween, when I hope we have a great big ole virtual Browncoat Halloween Party to end out the month.

Then we can turn our attention to the next thing.

Is there any place to get Serenifly themed Christmas cards to send to friends and family?

You think you know--what's to come, what you are. You haven't even begun.

I think I might try to photoshop a few holiday-type Firefly images and we can try to make some cards. We could have them say "Have a very shiny Christmas!" (or whatever other holiday, you know, there's Chanukah and Yule and Kwanza to think on, too, but Christmas is the basic one, I know)
I think this is a very good idea!

OMG, you know what I just realized? I totally have a greeting card making program on my comp. I could just stick the images on the card as I see fit. That makes much more. All righty, the crew's going on all my cards. If you're on the Browncoat Dispatch, then be prepared.

Shiny, Terri! What program do you have? And do you have any requests for me? I've been thinking Kaylee in front of a yule tree, but other than that I'm a bit stumped...

Well, it's called Greeting Card Factory Express, from Nova Development. And, I actually have no ideas for a Christmas card. I imagine it'll be a cast thing. I like the idea of Kayle in front of a yule tree. I've got to get the ole' brainpain rolling. Maybe with the Tam kiddies, or just a simple pic of the old gal herself. And like Hanukkah and Kwanzaa and Ramadan, too. Wait, Ramadan's the one around this time, right? Well, anyway, yeah, something like that. I'll start looking at some pics. If you're any good in Photoshop (and I mean, any good, which would be better than me) then we might be in business.

Ramadan I think comes a little later. Might have to check that.

Am I any good in photoshop? Honey, I'm a pro! (Well, I'd like to be. I don't actually make money on it yet.)

I actually added Serenity, Jaynes hat and a blue sun logo to our corporate Christmas cards
(the items are not prominent on the professionaly printed card but Browncoats will recognize them right away)
I would love to send those cards to SciFi/Universal but I am not, I cant take the chance of getting sued.
But this is a great idea and I will definetly get some generic cards and send them my wishlist.

Here's a real real quick one I just threw together. Things can be changed and text can be added etc, but it's an idea.

Right now, I need to go to bed...

Christmas Lights, decorations,... definitely see Kaylee, though a few other of the crew would be nice (or maybe if someone has the time hide them in the picture and you have to find them).

Edit: By the way PR, great job! I wouldn't mind being able to do that but until then I'll continue to hold you in awe!

I like my idea, but as I do not have the skills, nor the know-how to do it it is only a suggestion.

Besides, I won't even be able to send the card, I'm leaving for Africa on Tuesday... but I'll send thoughts!

*Said half-jokingly* You know with all the political correctness going around and C&D maybe we should just say Happy Holdidays... because you never know... Santa might decide to take action on derivative works.

Monkeyshines Beadery has some nice Browncoaty Christmas cards, but right now my net's acting up, so I can't post the link (Google Monkeyshines Beadery if you're curious). This is a great idea...someone wanna post the SciFi people's snail mail address, so I don't have to slog through the anniversary job thread?

I'm not gonna be able to help much with the card making--I'm finally getting Photoshop for Christmas, gorramit.

PR--you should post that card up on the images bit; get a word out to the lurkers who look at the fanfics and images first, and maybe don't pay so much attention to the GM thread. Pipewrench--you mind me copy&pasting your idea to the SciFi boards? Lotta people there who don't come here much, and I'm sure they'd be eager to help.

This is a great idea.. I'm so glad it made it back round to the front page.

Ok, here is the SciFi snail mail address:

Bonnie Hammer, President
NBC Universal | Sci Fi Channel
1230 Avenue of the Americas
New York, NY
10020

Here is the Universal snail mail address:

Universal Pictures

When you write the SciFi channel, include the Relit idea in the Guerilla Marketing threads as one of your wishes...

Here's the info on that:

PR.. you make the most lovely things..

MartianWay, did you post this on the Skiffy board? If so I'll go over there and post about it too.

Oooh, shiny! Thanks for the addresses--my cards have been written and wrapped since Monday, but now they're addressed and mailed.

I posted on the Skiffy boards (Just did it today
--I've been having problems with the Scifi login for a couple of weeks)

TDBrown, thank'ee much for putting this in the ReLit campaign; I included the summer series in my letter to SciFi .

Okay, I'll go post about this over there too.

Won't hurt to do both the Relit letters - plain.

And these on cards... fun way to liven up the holidays!

Might be effective too, you never know!
