I have an idea that I have already enacted here in the twin cities. I call it "FireFly it forward". It is like the “Pay it forward” idea but what I am doing is buying the complete series on DVD and given it to people. People I know would like it, that have never seen it, with the understanding that if they like it they buy it for someone else and so on. I see it like this, I would be spending the money on season 2 and 3 and 4 and 5... If the Fox network were not complete morons, so thusly I am buying it for my friends in hopes that maybe I'll, one day, be able to buy season 2, and 3 and 4 at the very least buy Serenity 2 or something. The more people that take part the better chance we all have.

That's a interesting idea. were it not for a depressing lack of Firefly related stuff at any store within driving distance, I would do it.

yup I think you will find many browncoats do this, firefly or serenity makes a great bday gift of christmas present, once the person has seen it they want more, then I introduce the idea of giving it to others...

the other way of doing it, is keep a loaner copy on hand, loan it out disc by disc, when they are ready for disc 4... make them go buy their own copy :)

Browncoats are the shiniest folks in the 'verse

Yeah, I'm doing that already. I've given the Box Set to 6 people now (not including family or Christmas), and urged them to get it for Their friends if they liked it. I followed up by letting them know when it's on sale, and guess what?
